Since the Zoomify version of the planet map on the infodump site is down, I'm looking for any links to Safehold maps, political, geographical/topographical, and military/battle/campaign maps.
Anyone who has produced any of the above, (first off - thanks...), could you please reply with a link so we can find it? If you know of such a link, please post it in a reply here. I would also encourage you and especially DW and/or his reps to post a copy of that Zoomifiable planet map on the Safehold Wikia site. They are pretty much stuck with scans of maps from the books which usually require a magnifying glass to read, sometimes even when Zoomed... Maybe Tor could scan and post zoomable versions of the original artwork for the maps used in the books. I'm sure that they were originally much bigger than those in the books. Helping the fanbase can't be a bad idea and those original maps already exist. It's just a matter of scanning them and posting them somewhere or hosting a site to feature them.... How bout it Tor? DW? Can we get some maps worthy of the series?

But while we're waiting... anyone who has links to any Safehold maps, post them as replies to this thread so there's one place that people can fine em.
Thanks. And have a good 4th...

You would probably be interested in the add-on a fan made for the Celestia software, which produces a globe of Safehold. Check out this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2288&p=44579&hilit=globe#p44579

You may find this link useful --
Safehold Map As Of LAMA

I use keyboard arrows to move around the map -- your system may differ.

That is the Zoomify map he is talking about being down. The entire fifthimperium website has been down for days.

I experienced an issue going to the site http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/images/Safehold_MTnT.jpg with Internet Explorer, but when I went to the site using Chrome, the .jpg file worked and I was able to zoom and move around with the pointers and by dragging the scroll bars.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Gang! I have the Celestia stuff. Fun that!

I hadn't seen the newest LAMA map. Perhaps that could be transferred to Zoomify format while the site is being worked on... (hint, hing - "Ah hope. An hope. Ah hope..."). Thanks for hooking me up to that one.

Links to any further maps including fan made, political, military, campaign, battle maps, etc would be welcome in replies. The idea is to gather links to as many maps as possible in one place to make it easier on everyone. This is a great start for one day. If you have Safehold maps, links to Safehold maps or if you know someone that does, I encourage that they be posted here as replies. It would be my aim to eventually consolidate them here in one large post that could be augmented/updated from time to time and also to share them with the Safehold Wiki.
I was really surprised and how much an understanding of the geography enhanced the enjoyment of this series and so I've embarked upon this little project/quest to try to do my bit to make it easier for other Safehold fans to find that same extra enjoyment. Thanks for helping and please spread the word such as you can.

OH... and I'll try the Zoomify/Pearls of Weber map in Chrome too. Thanks for that tip.

Yea, SWM is right.
See signature line below.

Selden and I made the original (ver. 1.0) and tweaked (ver. 1.1) versions of the add on. We didn't feel comfortable releasing the new (ver. 2.0) version, because:
1. We wanted a clarification on if our copyright permission extended to the new map and
2. We were hoping that RFC would permit us to use a new revision of the map with layers and a more "standard" sized map. (Explaining takes too long on a smartphone's keyboard.)

We never heard anything back from Gena,
She moved on, and
Real life life got in the way.

You can download and use v1.1 now.

If you want images from 2.0, tell me what you want, I will create the image(s) and post it/them to the same flickr site I used earlier.
