[Elizabeth]
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
I never dreamed it would come true
I never dreamed we would ally
That we would find our way to truth

[Eloise]
When the tigers came at night
With their voices soft as thunder
We repaired the dream they tore
The dream they tried to turn to shame

[Elizabeth and Eloise]
We stand determined side by side
And we will live the years together
We've made our peace in strength and pride
The dream we've won, since autumn came

We had a dream our lives would be
So different from the hell we're living
It's different now, we have the dream
We have revived the dream we dreamed...

SOO GOOD!!! I was crying a bit... NO, A LOT!!!!!

Oh, good, so the tears pricking at my eyes while I wrote it aren't totally weird or anything. (I have a lot of feelings about Elizabeth and Eloise and their blossoming relationship, okay? A lot of goddamn feelings. I mean, I have a lot of goddamn feelings about a lot of things in this series, but E&E becoming besties is at the top of the damn list.)

Oh, I don't know if you've heard this or not, but here's a link to ""A La Volonté Du Peuple", the French version of "Do You Hear the People Sing?"

...so basically anyone who thinks that "Do You Hear the People Sing?" isn't Haven's anthem can lump it.

I totally agree!!

On that note...

Do you hear the people sing?
singing the song of angry men
it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again!
when the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums
there's a life about to start when tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade, who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the Republic is there a world you long to see
Than join in the fight that will give Haven rights to be free!

Do you hear the people sing?
singing the song of angry men
it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again!
when the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums
there's a life about to start when tomorrow comes!

Will you give all you can give so that freedom will not retreat,
Some may fall and some will live, raise your sidewalls and fight with me
The flames of the fallen will burn all of Nouveau Paris!!

And the obligatory coda/finale:

[Javier, Alistair, and Andrew]
Take my hand
I'll lead you to salvation
Take my love
For love is everlasting
And remember
The truth that once was spoken
To love another person
Is to see the face of God.

[Entire Cast, including all those who died]
Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light

For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies
Even the darkest night will end
And the sun will rise!

We will live again in freedom
In the Athens of the Stars
We will walk behind the ploughshare;
We will end all of these wars
The chain will be broken
And all men will have their rewards

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the space-black night
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!

Oh my, that is a problem.

Perhaps the proles of Nouveau Paris could sing it?

Ha, thanks! I've been looking for somewhere to throw in the phrase "Athens of the Stars" pretty much since we started this, and there is honestly no place better.
