What is the correct name of the series of books that Crown of Slaves, Torch of Freedom and Cauldron of Ghosts belongs to?
In some places it's called "Crown of Slaves" series, in others "Wages of Sin". The blurb in my ARC of CoG it says it's the third book in the Cauldron of Ghost series. So which title is correct for the series? --- Jack of all trades and destructive tinkerer. Anyone who have simple solutions for complex problems is a fool. |

Heh... I actually call it the Torch books/series. TBH, I don't think it matters, as most will understand what you are talking about, as long as they have read them. =================

They all are..... Seriously, I think MWW/Flint never gave their trilogy a 'title' per se before they started it, so it's been left open. The Wages of Sin was how I've heard it, but that really doesn't make sense (sense in a practical way-the Wages of Sin was a minor player only in the first book--but metaphysically, I guess it would sum up the three books just fine). I've always personally called it the Torch series, although with the recent book I may amend that to the Maya Sector series. What do you call it? ***********************************************

The series those three books are in is commonly called The Honorverse. The title of the subseries? Well, Cauldron of Ghosts makes no sense. You wouldn't name a branch series after the last book in it. Wages of Sin makes slightly more sense, but not much; it was the setting for part of the first book, but was never mentioned again. Crown of Slaves and Torch are both fully acceptable. Personally, like Maxx, I prefer Torch. I think the main problem the that, unless I am mistaken, the author does not have a seprate name for the three concurrent sub series, due to the fact that he considers them all mainline. Snipped by Hutch, but I posted it anyway. ________________

I always call it spook duo books.
There is no proper name for the subseries I don't think there is any anyway. =-.--.--.*.--.--.-=

Wages of Sin.
Yes, that's the name of the Erewhonese orbital casino and pleasure house, but it's also a play on what happens when one indulges in an evil such as slavery. It's quite appropriate, given that the side series basically introduce the 'final conflict' with the MA. |

I think it picked up that series name because the Wages Of Sin station is depicted on the cover of Crown of Slaves .

What? You couldn't come up with a fourth "T" title? I've always thought of the Anton/Victor novels as the Torch Series, myself. Never really thought about the fact that they didn't have an "official" series label. "Oh, bother!" said Pooh, as Piglet came back from the dead. |
