Hi SCC,
Don't rule out bucklers and bow walls etc in hyper combat.
There were those who argued strongly that was how Oversteegen surprised the 2 pirate cruisers in hyper at Tiberian, though others point to his evident heavy missile expenditure which the former claim was from battle damage.
Though I subscribe to the second explanation, bow walls in hyper, ie a grav wave, seem like a great idea since the wedges aren't involved so head on attacks effectively protect the rest of the ship because of the very steep angles needed to get past the 300+ km sails at a ~1 km long target.
Even a broadside attack like Helen Zilwicki's would permit only a narrow firing angle for the attacker, all of which I don't think was lost on the RMN when they added it to hyper warships.

Classic sidewalls only
Dual bucklers
Buckler + Bow Wall
Buckler + Stern Wall
Sails
Sail + bucker[1]
I'm pretty sure you can't raise a buckler at the same time the aspect it protects is protected by a Wall, and I'll lay odds that you can't raise a buckler at the same time as the opposing Wall, and possibly even both Bucklers at once.
Buckler plus sails could work, but I don't think RFC wants to go there, it makes putting Alpha Nodes on LACs, particularly Shrikes, too attractive because of their use a convoy escorts
