I think I could buy Wil as Alistair, and I think he could do it well.

With the added advantages that Alistair is going to be around for a long while, and go out in a blaze of glory. Wil would like that. Both of that. <grin>

I would still prefer he be cast as Theisman, but I woul (grudgingly) settle for Alister.

Augustus Khumalo. Norm Lewis.

That is all.

Now that, I could agree. A truly inspired casting choice rose. I salute you!

Why, thank you!

I swear to God I took one look at his smile and I knew it had to be him, because looking back at me was Khumalo's smile. He's perfect. (Speaking of "songs for Javier and Eloise", is his "We Live on Borrowed Time" perfect for them, or is it perfect??)

...whoops, can someone get me a mop for this drool?

Would love for them to be able to cast Peter Dinklage as Raoul Courvoissier. For a lot of reasons (most of them centimeters) that isn't going to happen, but he could pull the character off as well as anybody and better than most.

In spit of his stature he is a commanding presence when on screen.

C'mon rnh.
If this series of movies is WILDLY successful...I mean, Avengers successful...casting for Augustus Khumalo will go on the table in about 15 years.

Why make an adamant issue of it now??

Now, the guy looks like he might make a decent fit for the character, but I'd want to see his credits, his looks, and his competition...in 15 years.

Actually, I can see this 'extended cameo' working quite well. Centimeters be damned.

Well, how does "The Phantom in Phantom of the Opera" (on Broadway), "Porgy in Porgy and Bess" (on Broadway), and "Inspector Javert in Les Miserables" (in the 25th Anniversary concert and in the West End) strike you for a start? :D

(He's a theater actor. Meaning he's probably (thankfully) cheap. And he'd only be sixty-five! He could pull it off in fifteen years!! Assuming he doesn't make an early cameo - please, Evergreen?)

Given the tiny little bit that we know about Augustus' pre-TQ career excitement, just what would that cameo be?

2nd asst to Adm Cortez?

<grin>

BY GOD I WILL TAKE IT.

...but perhaps RFC could provide a more comprehensive answer to the question?

Heh, my only problem with Dinklage wouldn't not the height of his person, but the height of his salary.

Else I would agree. He is one heck of an actor, and it would be a hoot ... Quick, someone send him a complimentary copy of OBS & tHotQ; if by some miracle he reads 'em and gets hooked ...

You know, sometimes I wonder if somebody at Evergreen ever looks at this thread and just goes, "Oh God." I mean, here we are, setting up our dream casts, and there they are, trying to make it go within budget. I know we try to be budget conscious, but still... When they do announce the cast, how many of us are going to say "they should have listened to me"? (I still think I am right about Wheaton though.) :D
