The particular passage isn't handy so I'll paraphrase the gist of it. I am sure you all remember.

The last time White Haven visited Janacek's office. What about I can't remember. Anyway, he said something like "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed that you could get dumber."

I'll have to find it. That quote was funny.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

War of Honor, when WH visits about HH letters telling him (and QEIII) what she is finding at Sidemore.

WoH

Opening chapters.

When Honor and Hamish are mooning over each other and her guard Andrew LaFollet is manfully trying not to roll his eyes at them pretending otherwise. But Nimitz was rolling his eyes back at Andrew while Honor was pretending not "hear" this side band chatter.

I busted out laughing so hard the other day.

Yup, can ya tell I have teenagers in the house? Always think they are so 'cool', aloof, debonair, and mature regarding relationships/life and I as an "adult", am slow, stupid, and "just don't get it!

Yup. I have teenagers in the house.

How many more years?

The nomenclature of some of the Honorverse entities in comparison to its realities.

-Committee of Public Safety??? Public? You mean Unsafety!
-Citizen's Rights Union, of which Cordelia Ransom was a member and had no qualms about attacking civilian targets with citizens. Or is that Citizen Citizen's rights?

-Camp Inferno on Hades, talk about making a deal with the devil.

The actual quote, from Chapter 48, is:

"Do you know," he said in a conversational, almost pleasant tone, "if I hadn't heard it with my own ears I wouldn't have believed it was possible for you to get even stupider."

From Ashes of Victory, which probably (IMHO) stirs more varied emotions from me than any of the other books, we have Honor's reaction to the statue put up in the Hall of Steadholders...as Honor explains to Mike what happened to her request they take it down.....

"They won't," Honor confirmed grimly. "I told them I'd refuse to use the main entrance ever again if they left it there, and they said they were very sorry to hear it and pointed out that there's always been a private entrance for steadholders. I threatened to refuse to accept my Key back from Faith, and they told me I wasn't permitted to do that under Grayson law. I even threatened to have my armsmen sneak up on it some dark night and blow it to smithereens . . . and they told me it was fully insured and that the sculptor would be more than happy to recast it in case any accident befell it!"

Always gets a chuckle and a grin from me...

Darn good one Hutch. That baby will always be good for laughs. Okay, I'll raise you one, but have to go all the way back to the beginning, OBS, to do it...
Courier Boat Commander: Captain Harrington, I protest your reckless, illegal shiphandling! You almost destroyed my ship! Our entire after—
Captain Harrington: I'm very sorry, Captain. I'm afraid I wasn't watching where I was going.
Courier Boat Commander: Weren't watching wh—?!

Here's one from SoF.
Michelle: You know, I’m beginning to wonder exactly what qualifications the Sollies look for in candidates for their naval academy. I mean there has to be a filtering process. You couldn’t just go out and pick middies at random and get such an invariably stupid crop of flag officers. There has to be some kind of system. If you just picked names out of a hat, for example, somebody would have to have a functional brain.

What about this gem, of Honor asking Michelle for makeup tips...

Mike: Our coloring is just a bit different, you know.
Honor: Does that matter?
Mike: :o

I can hear my niece in a situation like this.
"You are giving me absolutely nothing to work with."
