Hi guys I'd like to see Rayno killed and watch Clyntahn go even farther off the deep end. Just think what RFC could do with that plot twist !!! ??Comments?? R ..//* *\\

Hi Kbus888,
Eliminating Rayno has been a thread before, NTM at the top of Nahrmahn's little list given what we know about his targeting criteria. I'm sure Rayno has competent subordinates, but I'm not sure any of them can or could cope with Clyntahn in full berserk mode; at which point the next level succeeds to the position and suffer the same consequences until a hardier type emerges, but by then the situation has deteriorated to the point that its beyond salvage, and to prevent Clyntahn's wrath the new exec imprisons him to bargain with the alliance, and rather than be a prisoner, Clyntahn kills himself when some guard jokes about the Charisians or Siddarmarkians are here, only to discover it was a joke. Or maybe the joker was Merlin in disguise. So he dies like a coward at his own hand, at least that's the claim of the new Grand Inquisitor, long before the alliance can be blamed, eliminating this whole can of worms. L

Now that’s devious!!! Eliminate a highly capable underling, and use the assassination to incite an insane rage and maybe induce an apoplectic stroke in his superior. Even Machiavelli wouldn’t have thought of that. Narmanh… maybe! |

I'd say that Merlin should go for John Ringo's "Buckley" approach.
First kill him. Then record his personality and transfer it into a virtual environment. Leave him there. Once Safehold has progressed to the point of the majority of most of the citizens having implants again, every citizen gets half an hour with Clyntahn. |

I think we should paraphrase Vir Cotto.

Spoiler Alert
I believe RFC had Irys paraphrase it nicely and add her own personal flair at what she thought was Hektor's deathbed.

What about Allayn Magwair finally getting tired of being treated like a puppet? Personally I think if Duchairn was going to actually carry out a coup he would have done it by now. On the otherhand Magwair now commands a real army and there is some evidence he is getting tired of being lied to and treated like an idiot. |

I'd favour Duchairn for reprising Theisman's role in that scene. I can just see the Go4 holing up during an invasion of the Temple, Duchairn picking up a pistol in the confusion and the rest is history. Gruesome ends do happen to Weber's villains occasionally - the example I thought of was Brigadier Tresca, Warden of Cerberus. Dismembered by his slaves, wasn't he? |

Hi ElaineofShalott,
Welcome to the forums, enjoy your favorite simulated beverage on the simulated roof. Clyntahn has carefully kept the army far away from Zion, to prevent any military coup, so expecting Maigwair to be the key for that is assuming way too much. Magwair might be more influential with the Temple Guard, but past threads give Duchairn his own links into them. L
