Pretty neat model. Unfortunately for them we know what an interstellar ship actually looks like, and it ain't that.

The last time I looked into this the energy requirements for a Alcubierre drive were down to the Mass-Energy of Jupiter, which is about the same as your average supernova
(IIRC the requirements first calculated where more than the Mass-Energy of the entire universe) ~~~~~~

We're currently down to a requirement of ~700kg. But the additional requirement for a bunch of exotic matter is what's killing this thing at the moment, given that noone has so far managed to find any out in the world. |

Makes you wonder if you made the impeller ring this large would the compensator also be this large and allow for ship docking for LAC or the like.
