The problem is, that by trading these titles, the EOC is (essentially) saying that the titles are valid.

Which then raises the problems of post war, what happens when the person with the COGA's title tries to force the person with the EOC's title out of the property.

While the idea may have merit economically, I think it is extremely risky legally.....

Yup. If the titles are acknowledged as having a legal claim on the CoC, then it follows that the CoGA authority would also have legal claim. Buying the debt and playing merry hell with mainland finances is one thing. Even hinting that the CoGA has a valid legal claim in the EoC is unacceptable.

Use Silverlode as a POW camp.
The POW problem must be getting massive, and the island could use the labour to terraform and in the newly established mines.
Of course putting all of your bad eggs in one basket, could have unfortunate side effects , as a certain admiral proved in a galaxy far far away. ;)

As long they dont have a badass missile tech available, it should be safe

USe the wealth of the mines as the backing of a new bank. It's purpose would be in increasting and strengthening the infrastructure, industry and public works of the empire.

I wonder if the POW would work if paid well for their service.

Use the funds to create a fully industrialised, non electric, civilisation, Develop the water ways and road systems, build up a train network. FInd location like Delthak and develop them into industrial hubs.

Imagine a banking house, supported by the wealth of those mines, and with the links to the charis merchant houses, they could potentially become a big factor in the world economy.

Merlin can use his advanced tech, to help them extract the most they can from the mines, at least in secret

Hi SYED,

I don't think a new bank is needed to use the Silverlode wealth, but there are few who'd argue with your other suggestions, except keeping the mines secret.

The announcement of huge mineral wealth to pay for the war is important for the empire's morale, NTM probably more important for Siddarmark's besides the economic aid; while at the same time depressing the CoGA's who's wisest supporters have probably been expecting the alliance to run out of money sooner than later.

While the Go4 will argue the announcement is simply PSYOP's big lie at work etc, they will know its real with all that portends.

We might get some complaints why God hasn't given them any convenient gold mines etc, which ought to be most amusing, yet the coming CoGA economic collapse is another battlefield where celerity of decision and action will be important, especially after the IHA is dealt with, for what does Duchairn and the Go4 do then to pay for another army?

I just had an idea, merlin could send his bots to collect the tailings from working and worked mines. His tech should be able to salvage the valuable materials that would have been lost. Gold can be tracked to where it was mined by it's composition, I think that this could be within the church's capabilities. Imagine their reaction, if charis suddenly has alot of desnair gold or it is appearing where it should not be. They will think someone is cooking the books, so cause them trouble.

steam tech will revolutionise industry and agriculture, plenty will need to be retrained, but alot of people will be out of work. They can be used to build roads, waterways and train lines. The availabile manpower can also be channeled into the military.
