Yes, gets worse as you upgrade it. The green one is even worse:

Automated Integrator, 60k plasma
1.03 laser repair speed multiplier
0.05 laser repair speed multiplier, 10k plasma
???

From the ingame help at least, upgrading the Automated Integrator will make your laser repairs take 20x as long as normal. Avoid that. Avoid that HARD.

But do anything you can to get the Robotic Laser Integrator, as long as you don't upgrade it.

Time to delve into the actual game files next, to see what's *really* going on with these things.

I found another bizarre one. (v1.2 for iOS in case that matters)
Robotic ECM Integrator
lvl 3 = 1.800 ECM repair speed
lvl 4 = 1.100 ECM repair speed
lvl 5 = 1.120 ECM repair speed
lvl 6 = 1.140 ECM repair speed

So the progression is -.7, +0.2, +0.2.
It's best when not upgraded. In fact, the Uncommon/Green version at level 3 is better than the Legendary/Orange version at level 10 (that's only 1.340)

I've been working through the components again as I find them, noting their values at each upgrade level, but the two you mentioned I don't have yet to check.

Oh, if you're able to dive into the game files maybe you can find an answer my question about the various "Phasor" laser components; they've odd in that they've two attributes "Laser Speed" and "Damage by Lasers". My question was: does "Laser Speed" affect the same thing as the various "Charger" components' "Laser Cooldown Speed" attribute?

Robotic ECM Integrator
lvl 3 = 1.800 ECM repair speed

lvl 5 = 1.120 ECM repair speed
lvl 6 = 1.140 ECM repair speed

Just noticed that v1.3 for iOS is out, so I upgraded the app.

Looked to see if they'd fixed this; purchased a new Robotic ECM Integrator from the output; lvl 3 is still 1.800 and it's still showing the "upgrade" to lvl 4 is a -0.700 drop.

Also this unlocked the Pequod Outpost. It has
Pequod Outpost
1400mm Alloy Armor 900k metal
Hull Health
lvl 5 = 450
lvl 6 = 500
lvl 7 - 550
lvl 8 = 600

lvl 10 = 1.400x

lvl 9 = 0.770x
lvl 10 = 0.760x

Photonic Computer 480k plasma
Hull damage reduction
lvl 4 = 0.890x
lvl 5 = 0.870x
lvl 6 = 0.850x
lvl 7 - 0.830x
lvl 8 = 0.810x

Missile Tube Auto-Loader 900k plasma
Missile load speed
lvl 5 = 0.820x
lvl 6 = 0.800x
lvl 7 - 0.780x
lvl 8 = 0.760x
lvl 9 = 0.740x
lvl 10 = 0.720x

(I didn't have the resources on hand to buy these again, so the values I have are from my existing notes and I'd started that only after already upgrading of some of these.
Edit: went back and filled in the missing values now that I had time to find and upgrade new copies)

If you've missed out on getting your full complement of Z-RZ Boosters in the penultimate sector, check out the waystation in the Live Event on the Hard setting.
Yes!
I'm finally up to 2 Z-RZ's per department!
Now I just need to upgrade them to L8...

I just found a new Robotic Laser Integrator (iOS - app v1.3) tonight and confirmed it had the same issue RandomGraysuit reported; begins at "1.800".

(The Robotic CM Integrators I've found have been correct "1.080", but the Robotic Laser Integrators and Robotic ECM Integrators both have the transposed 1.800 initial value)

From the ingame help at least, upgrading the Automated Integrator will make your laser repairs take 20x as long as normal. Avoid that. Avoid that HARD.
I finally got one of these again and tested out the upgrade. It was actually even weirder than you were claiming.

At level 2 I saw the same values from your post; looked like it would take a 20x delay if upgraded to level 3.
But when I went ahead with the upgrade anyway, that's were things got odd.

Everything looked normal until I got the chime that the upgrade was done. What a moment before had been a level 2 Automated Integrator (1.030x faster laser repair) morphed into a level 3 EM Laser Disruptor (0.050 damage to enemy lasers).

Went ahead and submitted and in-game bug report on this one.

Some of the other upgrade errors look like typos (digit transposition) but I'm surprised whatever "upgrade path" data structure they have even allows you to set a component to morph. Having each level's icon and numeric value doesn't really require a data structure that lets you point to a arbitrary components as the next level version. (Wonder if each level of each component is actually a totaly separate data record with some kind of pointer or record number to let the game which to look at during an upgrade. Doing that would make a bit more work for the unique components, since they refuse to let you have two of the same rarity installed; no matter what their respective upgrade levels. But I guess it would preserve flexibility for upgrade types or numbers they hadn't forseen at original design time...

Oh.

Oh MY.

Game data files are stored as human-readable text in:

\Android\data\com.evgstudios.the_secret_fleet\files\

It's all there. I don't know what the data format is offhand, but the entire mechanical workings of the game are exposed in neatly formatted, easily read XML-like structures. Pity about the lack of whitespace, but that's easily fixed with a good script.

A few interesting tidbits:

Countermissiles (or anti-missile missiles, apparently) can shoot:
Level 1 3
Level 2 4
Level 3 6
Level 4 7
Level 5 9
Level 6 10
Level 7 12
Level 8 13
Level 9 15
Level 10 16
ECM can decoy:
Level 1 4
Level 2 5
Level 3 7
Level 4 8
Level 5 10
Level 6 11
Level 7 13
Level 8 14
Level 9 16
Level 10 17
Lasers can shoot:
Level 1 2
Level 2 3
Level 3 5
Level 4 6
Level 5 8
Level 6 9
Level 7 11
Level 8 12
Level 9 14
Level 10 15
Weapons can fire:
Level 1 2
Level 2 3
Level 3 4
Level 4 5
Level 5 6
Level 6 7
Level 7 8
Level 8 9
Level 9 10
Level 10 11
Bridge roll speed modifiers:
Level 1 1
Level 2 0.95
Level 3 0.9
Level 4 0.86
Level 5 0.81
Level 6 0.77
Level 7 0.74
Level 8 0.7
Level 9 0.66
Level 10 0.63

Shields/Sidewalls are a straight 1:1 value.

System Boost requirements:
Level 1 0
Level 2 7,000
Level 3 18,000
Level 4 33,000
Level 5 52,000
Level 6 75,000
Level 7 102,000
Level 8 133,000
Level 9 168,000
Level 10 207,000

As suspected, the issue with several repairers is a typo in the effect data field, and each upgrade of a system is indeed a separate item in the game data.

Seeing all of this exposed like it is makes me suspect this game is highly moddable, to an extent I'd never suspected until now. Creating a player-controlled battlecruiser is mainly an issue of slapping on a 4th missile battery, then putting together a good mesh.

I need to root a phone to poke at the actual program files or find out where Bluestacks stores its data.

I think I just found a new column to include in my item tables- officer level required. Good thing it's in the data files.

Turns out that even if you can beat the second Hard mission and get access to scads of purple-level stuff while in the 3rd/Breslau sector, upgrading those items will quickly run into the officer level limit. In order to hit system level 6 with a single system booster, you need to have level 11 officers. Maximum officer level on a light cruiser is 10.

So much for that bright idea.

Just found out that Secret Fleet does NOT like it when you play around in Windows Notepad and copy the resulting file over. Tends to make the game freeze at the loading splash screen with all the ships.

Looks like Linux-based systems are the way to go.
