I am curious as to what a poll of posters (believing, or not, in extraterrestrial visitors in the form of UFOs) would yield. If you don't have a pen name and use your real name, I encourage you not to post. MIB! shh
Personally, it is difficult to believe that galactically insignificant little old Earth sitting all along on one of the galactic spiral arms is one of a kind. Would a Creator or creation waste so much space? What do you think our visitors want? Has anyone seen or know anyone who has seen a UFO? Has anyone been kidnapped and care to tell? Any close encounters? Any weird excrement happen in your life? What do you think about Roswell, and Area 51? Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

UFO as meaning an alien star craft or atmospheric landers or probes snooping around in our skies as an UFO? This narrows it down by a very considerable degree. I mean a whole lot.
Good planets are very hard to find. Or ... an environment conducive to allow advanced life forms to develop, mature, then start exploring our Galaxy in my view are very rare? Yes! I think, (my feeble opinion only) that our planet MAY have been visited and surveyed millions of years ago by somebody or something. We MIGHT possibly be under observation today even. But... consider the things necessary for the aliens to even be here. Would that then imply that their teck would be like magic to us? Would they choose to show themselves? And why? Except for all the questions and no answers, everything is OK. Just me, but I think there may have been somebody 30 million years ago on the far side of our Milky Way Galaxy. And....there may be somebody very close by, (consider US!) in about 10 thousand years from now, and their may be something that-a-way 10,000 pc in about 40 million years from now. Other than that, we have absolutely no information leaning in either direction. Yep...we just do not know yet. Kepler is showing us Earth like planets are extremely ... $VALUABLE$ Just me. I've seen an Unidentified Flying Object. Twice 5000 km/miles? & several years apart. Same kind, different colour. I have no idea if it was alien. I posted on this a few month ago. Add to that the other odd happenings, teleporting girl, wrong lane, folded clothes, ....4:03...

Firstly it is obvious that Unidentified Flying Objects exist, as to if any are actual extra-terrestrial space craft I've an open mind.
I've seen a UFO about 45 years ago. Driving by myself at night on a remote country road in an open sports car, my radio became full of static and I saw a large cigar shaped object with lights along it that seemed to be about a 100 metres up and 200 metres away keeping pace with my car. I sped up to 120 mph and it kept pace with me even following a sweeping corner for about ten minutes. It then angled upwards and seemed to accelerate up at an impossible rate going out of sight very quickly. I didn't tell anyone for years, but it may well have been the reason I love military SF. I've no doubt that other intelligences exist in the universe, but am unsure if it is possible or likely that they have visited us. However now that we are radiating modulated radio waves outwards the possibility of a visit has increased, for better or worse. |

The second UFO I saw was much like the first only this time it had a dim orange and white flashing light.
I was watching the Space shuttle and ISS fly in close proximity over Calgary. I saw that, two little dots even with binoculars, but afterwards I was scanning the sky and stars and caught the flashing orange and white light flying a grid pattern over the city. It was quite high 5-10,000 ft I guess. Couldn't see it with out binoculars. I just lucked out. It freaked me out seeing it again so I just went into my house. ________________________________________

Unidentified Flying Objects? Sure, I accept that. Most of the time someone else identifies them.
Alien Visitors? While I am of the opinion that we are not the only life in the universe, I seriously doubt that we have been visited. A couple of notes I remember from a talk by Neil DeGrasse Tyson (and if you ever have the chance to hear that man speak, take it, you won't regret it). One, a extra-terrestrial species far enough ahead of us to make space travel over the light years possible and feasible would come who knows how many light years to...probe our anal cavities, have sex with our wimmen, and somehow only get spotted on lonely roads by average folks....Hmmmm, don't you think if they were coming all this distance they would, well, contact people of some importance? Two, for all the people who have reportedly been abducted, none of them have ever brought back anything that is remotely alien--for example, if you were a 12th century peasant captured by 21st century time travellers and you made off with anything, it would be obvious to anyone that item was not made in your place or time. So if your ever abducted, steal something--anything. It would be a great deal of help in proving your case. Three, ever notice who doesn't report UFO's very much? Astronomers, both professional and the thousands of amateurs? Think about how often you really look at the night sky-if you're honest, it isn't all that often or for very long. So why haven't all those folks who spend hours upon hours searching space reported all of these UFO's? Because they are used to looking at the sky for hours on end--and knowing what is up there. IMHO as always. YMMV. ***********************************************
No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow. What? Look, somebody's got to have some damn perspective around here! Boom. Sooner or later. BOOM! -LT. Cmdr. Susan Ivanova, Babylon 5 |

Do i believe in UFOs? Of course. Do i believe they were of the extraterrestial visitors kind? Seems very unlikely. There are some extremely interesting UFO incidents though, but overall i´m certainly not holding my breath expecting to meet up with aliens any time soon.
Highly unlikely yes.
What creator?
Bed and breakfast?
Me and a friend once saw an aurora that was awesome cool, a perfect set of circles in each other of white, green and red light. Certainly looked like a UFO at the time. Day after there was much about it in the news as it was the largest aurora ever recorded so far south (60 degrees north or so), large as in probably 100-200km diameter, possibly more as it covered more than a 90 degree view when looking up. I think just about anyone would look at that and see it as a UFO.
In regards to "aliens"? Mostly rubbish. Lots of fanciful conspiracy theories based on makebelief non-evidence. |

I think most of the "UFO" sightings at Area 51 were actually unidentified flying objects of terrestrial origin. I would guess they were experimental aircraft on test flights. Most people of the 40s and 50s had never heard of jet aircraft, let alone seen one. Compared to the prop driven planes of the time, their performance would seem amazing. As for Roswell, I think it was a crashed test flight. All the rest is pure imagination. _

Do I believe in extra terrestrial life?
Yes the universe is just too big for life to have developed on just one planet. As of this morning there are:- Approximately 1800 known exo-planets, most of those are, (due to the methods we have to detect them), going to be gas giants, The furthest we have discovered a planet is about 8,500 Parsecs, a tiny tiny percentage of the known universe. And most important of all we have only been seriously looking for the last few years. Do I believe in Unidentified Flying Objects? No if it is flying in our atmosphere someone knows what it is, most UFO's are going to be top secret military flights. I do believe in Unidentified Atmospheric Phenomenon, eg the aurora example earlier, meteorites, and various other naturally occurring events which people observe and mistake for intelligently controlled UFO's. And lastly do I believe extra terrestrial intelligent life has ever visited earth?, I very much doubt it, until we started sending radio signals out into space there was very little for alien life to get excited about here. So if the aliens had come all this way, expended all those resources and energy, why are they wasting their time probing redneck backside's, mutilating cows, and only appearing to people who have taken too many mind altering substances? ~~~~~~

There´s quite a number of observations where noone knows, so no, even if it´s in atmosphere, there´s no guarantee someone knows waht it is. MOST "UFO"s are actually naturally occuring phenomena by a wide margin. Including several that are still unknown how they actually work, like ball lightning.
