Wouldn’t it be logical to use Narhmans’ intelligence skills at planning ”wet work”, to have him set up a campaign to spark of a slave revolt in the Harchong Empire.

I would think that the most likely time for a slave revolt would be when the army gets home...with guns. It's hard to get 'em back on the farm once they've seen Paree!

Given the casualty rates I expect the Harchong serfs to suffer, I don't expect too many to make it back. The few that do though will be the smartest, toughest, and/or luckiest of the serfs. Will that be enough to start a revolt? Maybe, maybe not... |

A better scenario, would be if they pulled units of the line to be sent back to Harchong to combat the insurgency.
Then the armed slaves/serfs angle might play in. |

Everyone is forgetting the 10's of thousands of IHN POWs. Those slaves have Benn held for a couple of years now. What has become of them? If the are still on the prison hulks, that suggests RFC doesn't plan anything tricky with POWs in general.
Personally, I hope he offers Harchongese POWs 5 acres on Silverlode, a mule and a promise to try to get their family over too. Heck, I am all for bribing those bureaucrats in Harchong to ship as many women and children to Charis as they can. Even with Pasquale's injunctions death during childbirth appears to take quite a few women. That leaves older men competing with younger men for brides. Adding significant numbers of women able to bear children will increase population growth in Charis and leverage their productivity improvements even more. Perhaps the argument will be to ease the pressure in Harchong. Ship the rabble rousers out and toss in those underproductive women to boot. The argument might actually work, too. |

I think it would be better for Charis to wait to nudge this until after the war is over. Then they could "repatriate" their POWs with a few new ideas.
EDIT: And I just had another idea of how they could set some things in motion. What if Maikel and the highest ranking Temple Loyalist priest in Tellesburg (the one who tended to the Corisandians when they were there, probably) showed up at the POW camp without notice to ensure that the spiritual needs of the prisoners are being handled properly. The TL priest would hold mass and Maikel would just attend, not saying a word during the mass. Most of the Harchongian serfs probably never saw an archbishop before in their life, let alone one with that kind of humility. |

SAY a bunch of missionaries from the church of charis comes to the harchong camps. They give their speeches, all about their version of the church, which totally is against the church they grew up with. For centuries, the church has help keep serfs and slaves under the heal of the nobility. The church of charis is all about choice, freedom and love.
Give each of them a copies of the literature, help them to read. there must be some capable of it. That way when released, the teachings will spread. There is that huge island near harchong, offer to settle them there is they are will ing to certain agree ments. many would love to have their own land. why not use the imperial secret connection to arrange transport of slaves who disaappear into the sea, they can be used to make colonial enclaves. |

Just teaching them how to read should make Harchong nobles turn purple. There's a reason teaching slaves to read was illegal in large chunks of the south. The effect of large numbers of literate serfs could be interesting for the Harchong nobles. |

Once the slave/serf insurrection starts, it’s going to be bloody and messy.
We’ve already been prepped by Merlin’s analysis of OWL’s library historical accounts. Imagine the slave revolt in Haiti in the 1790’s times 10,000. In an environment like that, education, agit-prop and the like, would only become effective once the initial blood letting had run its course. |
