I remember several incidences when Honor was listening to someone talk, yet preoccupied. She would decide to listen half heartedly with the intention to replay the entire conversation later. Is there textev stating what that ability is? I seem to remember something. I don't think textev stated that she had a photographic, or eidetic memory or something similar. Can anyone tac-witch-it?
Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

Will Celestia tell you whether an orbit is stable on a timescale of hundreds of millions or billions of orbits? That would be pretty great, but it seems unlikely. --------------------------------------------

So I'm guessing that means the 6-sun system in Asimov's Nightfall would be highly unlikely to have a planet that harbored intelligent life? Lol. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

I think this is the relevant quote from HAE:
It does seem like a unique ability. I know I couldn't do it without actually listening to the conversation. Maybe it's some sort of Meyerdahl byproduct? *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Considering Honor's close ties with Beowulf does anyone think that it would have been reasonable for Beowulf to potentially object to Honor's judicial murder on what was obviously trumped up charges? I would expect Jacques to be far more upset at the thought of his niece being murdered in such a manner on live television. Just a thought.

from SftS,
Ok. So I've been schooled on the differences between admirals of the green or red (by the way, thanks everyone) but I don't remember anything that really describes their uniforms other than the cut and salads. According to this passage something about their uniform stands out to differentiate their seniority. So does anyone know what differences are in their uniforms? Cthia's father ~ "Son, do not cater to the common belief that a person has to earn respect. That is not true. You should give every person respect right from the start. What a person has to earn is your continued respect!" |

Interesting. I hadn't read that Pearl before. I wish he had mentioned the whole POW thing in his response. I completely understand the point he was trying to make in all of the examples he gave. It seems that maybe some family influence in that one case (i.e. to save someone from execution) might be appropriate? *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*
