It's both because you're talking about two different inertial reference frames. It's 2 years for the travelers, and 200 years for the stay-homers. What could be simpler?

The travellers would have to conform with the general populace that 200 years had passed, even if it's only 2 for them.
Bonus is the backpay of course. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, no actually. This is where the issue of time vs perceived time pops up and shouts obscenities in your face. To the travellers, to them it IS 2 years, but that does not mean that they have actually travelled for 2 years. We already know they have actually travelled for 200 years, as otherwise they could not have reached the destination and then return at that speed. This is where you find the true meaning of "time is relative"(to the point of view). Because to anyone else(and the universe at large), for example everyone seeing their ship, they have spent 200 years travelling. So, you´re sort of right and sort of wrong. |

I did – maybe you shouldn’t repeat a quote as your own quote="Tenshinai"] Wow, lovely copout attempt there. Doesn´t work, since noone is likely to believe that those travellers are going to split in two parts and then somehow return at different times despite doing the same travelling.[/quote]No - saying “well majority rules” is the copout. If you bothered to read… I didn’t say the travelers split in two " " I said they traveled for 2 years while to “stay-at-homes” traveled through 200 years of time that’s what “time travel” is duh a)nonoe is not a word (lol) & b) saying that “time isn’t real” and “human perception” is saying it’s a “figment of the imagination” can’t grasp that? yea I’m the one ranting " " What does "luck" have to do with "thinking".” “ hmmm...maybe thats the problem - you depend on luck for your thinking somehow? for those who stayed at home 200 years would have passed & no the rest of the would not reset their clocks to those of the space ship but the astronauts would not suddenly age 198 years when they set foot on the planet - they only traveled 2 years and are only 2 years in their future - they traveled in time. Though the issue of back pay is an interesting one! -

Of course it isn´t. But that´s not what i wrote. Maybe you should learn to read? And then maybe learn English?
Something that i´ve never EVER said. Go play with your strawman somewhere else.
And again you quote your own imagination. Phrases that have no connection to what i said. Just how lame can you get?
Oh not me, i dont NEED it. I´m not the one creating fake quotes or fail to understand even basic stuff. |

So, if you are one of those who are on this 24 month trip. Do you have to do your taxs, every 12 months your time or once a month (200 year) time? How do you mail them off? |
