Finished the latest, what roller coaster ride two major battles, an allied convoy attacked by a French Sub, the Surcouf, a new enemy probably Kurokawa's mysterious strangers.
Speculation. Not much other than a prolog on Kurokawa, so you're a crazy Japanese Captain with delusions of Godhood, what do you do? Create a New Japan: I think Halik will go sough until he finds Kurokawa who he hates. Kurokawa will keep his Grik army on the African mainland. Any other ideas? In the West we have USS Donaghey captured by the French Nazis and the Grik wanting Madagascar back and revenge for a dead Celestial Mother. In the West our favorite Blood Cardinal is back commanding the Army of God, while the allies await a royal visit. Hints of an infectious illness Vomito Rjho, and new Dom air cover, the Pope's greater dragons. Happy commenting and speculating, Poker Edited as I hit img rather than i for the foreign words, oops. You seem to be short of rather a lot of terrain features, Poker. Little unimportant things like Lake Manyara, the Rift Valley and some quite impressive volcanos will be in the way of New Japan's expansion inland. And I hate to think what large predators might be on the plains of Maasai Mara and Serengeti, hindering the 'good' Griks.
And what on earth are those blocks of colour that look almost like a huge skeleton raptor? Cheers John |

Ugh some of the terrain features you spoke of. Kind of difficult when one does not have feature maps as a base. found one satellite photo to begin adding them in. Poker CPO Poker Mind and, Mangy Fur the Smart Alick Spacecat.

Thanks for the reply, Poker! I rather thought those blocks might be intended to be the mountains, rift valley etc, it's just that they didn't seem to be where those features were when I was last in the area. Small scale makes things difficult, doesn't it!
Cheers John PS - I'm another Destroyermen fan, just wish I could get the ebooks here in England as I've run out of bookshelf space. |

Scaling is always fun and drawing mountains with a modified satellite photo even more so Here is the terrain photo I found on Wiki: not to mention having to remove the dam to go back to rivers. Well after much trial and error cutting and fitting here are the features. Looking at the full map rather than the small slice I used Lake Manyara would be down left of the left border, hmm Wiki said it was Hemingway's favorite African lake. Well here it is with what features I could put on it: I didn't care for the Dino bones either but, noticed the ridges ran parallel as shown in the rapter bones The great basin in Nevada has similar sets of parallel mountains. Oh the Surcouf if you have trouble visualizing the written discription. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_submarine_Surcouf Enjoy, Poker CPO Poker Mind and, Mangy Fur the Smart Alick Spacecat.

Thanks again, Poker! And now I think I see what was foxing me - your coast line seems a lot farther from the mountains than the one I know.

Third time's the charm: https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t1.0-9/10342759_488028081329209_3051694492741891051_n.jpg Any one want a BMP version, Damn jpeg bleeds like hell, PM an e-mail drop address. Probably the next allied aircraft we will see is a military version of the Manila Clipper with radial engines probably similar to the Japanese Kawanishi H6K, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawanishi_H6K a PBB Patrol Bomber Baalkpan courtesy of Lieutenant Walt ‘Jumbo’ Fisher. I wonder if they will have racks to launch two torpedoes? A torpedo plane would be very handy in the next book both east with the vast Dom fleet and the west with the Grik and/or Japanese-French fleet. Then again several bombers carpet bombing with incendiaries would doom wooden sailing troop ships both Grik and Dom. I wonder if a closely packed invasion armada set on fire via carpet bombing will create a firestorm sucking in undamaged ships, and I wonder if the flashies will appreciate a cooked meal? Grik A’la Napam? Dom burgers? Poker CPO Poker Mind and, Mangy Fur the Smart Alick Spacecat.
