I see your point but I secretly harbor hopes of the entire works done on film. Perhaps after EoH is time to begin combining books and/or flashbacks, elucidating that which need be, like Honor and Pavel Young's beginning angst, the shower scene.

I don't know how feasible a tv series would be. I'd be completely ecstatic over it though. Perhaps a tv series would have chance to show many of the aspects of the novels only slightly referenced. Like White Haven's tension with Caparelli and Janacek. The Grayson wars and the Five Keys. Barbara Bancroft. Honor and Michelle at Uni and into mischief. The very first treecat adoption...

Lots of material for tv.

Thanks for the info,

It went straight over my head as I have never heard of the programme.

Read a lot, don't watch TV or go to the cinema at all.

Maybe I should try to get out more

I've never watched it either, I just know about the series because of people bitching about the author, GRRM (George R. R. Martin.) I've only read about the first chapter of one of his books and don't understand why people can't just toss the junk and forget about it instead of bitching.

Wrong. It's A Song of Ice and Fire. Aka the novel basis for the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Source: Way too much time on the Internet.

A Honorverse tv series would be LOVELY, and might be a viable choice if the first movie or two gains a decent profit.

Obviously someone who managed more than a couple of pages of GRRM's drivel. :D

So far in my long life I have seen only a few good books turned into good movies. Even with the good ones I have a few issues but that has to be expected. I think that I have mentioned this before but I was totally disgusted with the movie 'Hunt for Red October'. Not only did they change very important parts, for what I consider poor reasons, they left out so much of the really nice parts IMHO. Good books need to be read. But I would love to see a good book turned into a visual medium. But I'm a bit picky: put into it everything that I think was good in the book. I think that anything like the Honorverse books the only possibility to do it anywhere close to right would be a very long series. I'm thinking an entire season of two to four hour per week episodes for each novel. For some it could be even longer. Would I buy the DVD's, all thirty or so of them, if that was done? Yes, I would even if it meant Ramen Noodles for dinner for the year. At least if the film-maker followed the books like a fundamental religious fanatic. :!:
