While I'm, happy Clyntan is not happy. It still means either MWW is well behind schedule or that HFQ is going to be short by MWW standards. 160,00 words is about 400 pages. His recent Safehold books have been approximately 250,000 words. If, as he wrote 5 or six weeks ago, he was half done then, he would now have about two full months to go to finish this one at the current rate. That might leave a Feb 2015 release possible, but not likely.

I suspect your timetable is probably correct. I really think that we're looking at late winter/early spring (March to May by my reckoning) for publication. I seem to recall some discussion on the last book about publishing time tables and how long after a manuscript is submitted till it can get out to the stores but I forget the exact timetable. I also think there were only certain time periods that the publishers released into. Anyone recall the details?

In the meantime, I'm finding these forums less interesting and don't visit as often.

Oh well, I can chase my other interests 'till next year - - -

Snippets would go a long way to eliminating kbus888's problem. might have a similar effect on mine. :)

This is like being between a rock and a hammer. I want my snippets right now (because I am a spoiled brat  ). On the other hand I don't want the MWW/RFC to be distracted from his writing duties  . (This is not the only series of his that I am waiting on.)

Actually, I must admit that my greatest disappointment is that, after 160K words, Clyntahn's not DEAD.

But maybe it's the kid in charge of the mortars who's "not happy"...there's a thought!

I suspect that writing one of these books is not a linear process so it is not clear to me at what stage of completion the book is at.

Nah, I want him to last to the very last minute.

That way, there's a chance he gets his just desserts- or at least recognize that his whole life was a complete failure and that he will be immortalized in eternal shame as the Grand Inquisitor that failed in his duties.

I think that could be enough to kill him by itself. That is, if he doesn't follow the route of Hitler and just eat his gun when he realizes that he's lost.
