And some of the spies probably work for the Author(s) and the spies job is to glean secret information and opinions expressed by us all about many of the great books already written so the Authors can secretly plot and plan future book story lines. And some of the spies ARE THE AUTHORS! It must be true because all of the books are so good! Works for me. HB of CJ (old coot) :) :) :)

Back when I was still at school (all those many decades ago...) my friend and I used to walk back together since we had the same route, often discussing odd, semi-random things.
For a few notable weeks, we discussed various concepts relating to physics and the universe (we were both into sci-fi even back then), and to our great amusement, similar theories were publicly released by notable scientists soon after.
We joked that they were spying on us as they needed new ideas...

An old joke from Christmas a few years ago. Two kids, a boy and a girl putting up a Christmas tree. The girl was on a ladder putting a star on the tree. The boy was below.
