One also wonders when Prince Rodger will get adopted by a treecat. We will see more 'cats since with guardian 'cats we will have another 'cat - human relationship.

Besides political leaders eventually Mike, Alice, and Terakof will need security.

Then the police function, and finally since the 'cats don't wish to remain kittens they will need to learn technology and how to use it.

Roger only just got out of his teenage years, and we know 'cats tend to adopt adults, so my guess is that it's coming up pretty soon.

In addition to Mike, Alice, and Terekhov, I think Khumalo and Dame Estelle really ought to be 'catted - and not just because they're my darlings! As the ultimate civilian and military authorities in the Quadrant, they'd be prime targets.

Didn't Roger just get married to Rivka? Perhaps they'll honeymoon on Sphinx and both be adopted?

Privacy. Look at William and Kate and the number of paparazzi that follow them around. Camping out in the middle of a forrest surrounded by treecats is likely the only way they will ever get some privacy from the rest of those pesky humans.

You know what I need?

I need a scene of Honor and Tom kicking back with a bottle of Old Tilman and their relevant 'cats, with nothing to do and nowhere to be, so they can just relax in each other's company and be BFFs. Yes. I need this.

Also I'm sure we've talked about this before and will again, but Havenites need to get themselves adopted. And numbers one and two on my list are Haven's President and Secretary of War.

That'd be a great scene.

What is sad about the Honorverse is that it can not remain extremely good for extremely long. We have all enjoyed a long run of great novels. However, at what point do you just stop?

Perhaps after settling accounts. Honor with her Grayson sword walking into that epic final encounter with the "heads" of the MAlignment. The Sollies and the Grand Alliance FINALLY making peace?

Honor becoming Admiral of the Fleet for years, then honourably resigning. Later becoming the Manti Prime Minister? Finally retiring to Grayson? But...we get feelers of something....

...truly alien outside of known human space? Not the bugs. Something else. Worse. Perhaps a teaser for another generation of novels done by young writers? Just a hint of something nasty? HB of CJ (old coot)

I admit, I'm hoping for an epilogue in the final book that tells us where and how our series anchors ended up. Did Eloise fall in love with Tom after the worst of her grief had passed, or did she simply decide that Javier had been the only man for her and carry on governing in his memory? Did she step down from the Presidency after awhile, and if so, what did she do afterward, and who succeeded her? How did Honor spend her career - and her retirement? How did all those social reforms play out on Grayson? What happened to Mesa after the destruction of the Alignment? How long did it take for the former Solarian worlds to stabilize, and what were the results? How did the Talbott Quadrant wind up folding into the Empire? Did Augustus and Estelle ever get married, and did they remain in the TQ? And what in heaven's name happened to Silesia??

I have to admit, I'm highly relieved that RFC has a definite endpoint. The number of books it takes to get there may change - remember when he thought it would only take eight books? - but he knows where he's going and how he wants to wrap it up instead of just dragging on and on and on.

But dammit, I need to know what happens to my darlings!!
