Anyone notice how Lord Nelson appears over and over in MWW/RFC works ie Admiral Honor and Admiral Yairley for examples. Plus all the six legged animals
Maybe MWW/RFC will give us a snippet on how Clyntahn takes the COCA military reversals. How much is left to destory in his apartment? Or maybe the sea trail of EOC King Haralds. I think Admiral Yairley will get one, maybe even the first one. He been very visible in the last few book as a hard charging Admiral/Captain. The first battle with the M96 rifles. What the bars ideas of what they would like to see in the snippets. -------------------------------------
Commission Officer Vs Warrant Officer When you Commission someone you hope that they will work. When you Warrant someone you know that they will work. Chief Warrant Officer 3 Ret US Army - Ordnance/Signal |

This is more something I'd like to see in the upcoming book or books than "just in the next snippet".
Seijin Kody, both Merlin and Cayleb have mentioned him as a "legendary" (possibly fictional) Seijin. I've wondered if Seijin Kody was/is a real being on Safehold. While many of the stories about him are pure fiction, perhaps there was a real person behind the stories.

New to the Forum, have enjoyed RFC's Books for years.
I would like to see "in the next book HFQ", Hektor become a midshipmen in the ECN. He could be stationed on the Haarahld VII. The squadron of King Haarahld's could steam into Manchyr Harbor to pick him up causing a surge of patriotism for the Empire. Hektor could even get a chance to "kiss the gunner's daughter" the same as Cayleb before him. |

Hektor???
I think you're meaning Prince Daivyn of Corisande. I doubt that Prince Daivyn will be accepting or would be offered a midshipman position in the ICN. When Cayleb served in the Royal Charisian Navy, his father was still alive and he served for only a short period before taking up his duties as Crown Prince of Charis. Daivyn's main duty, at this time, is to learn to be the best possible Prince of Corisande that he can be.

No problem.
Even though, I don't think Daivyn will formally be a midshipman, I suspect he may receive informal training in ship handling. It's possible that Hektor would be involved in the informal training. As for "kissing the gunner's daughter", since I suspect that the informal training will be a "reward" for doing well in his training to become truly Prince, his punishment would likely be "not getting the informal training in ship handling". Oh, to edit look for the "edit post" below your post on the left.

IIRC, isn't Irys Daivyn's heir? I'll have to reread the passage where AB Clairmant blesses the siblings return to Corisande. I recall that he supported terms that made Irys not only part of Daivyn's Regency Council but also the heir until Daivyn produces an heir of his body.
I wonder if this opens the possibility of Daivyn's more thorough introduction to the ICN? Learning how to rule isn't just a matter of learning managing bureaucratic systems but also learning how to leading people. The ICN is an excellent organization that can teach leadership to a young Prince. |
