I've noted that Fraihan's wall seems to separate part of Sodar from itself, as well as barrier from Desnair to that piece of South Harchong to the north. Could this be a relic from earlier times when the national boundaries were different, I suppose a Hadrians wall on Safehold.

Hi Mwadwell,
The twists and turns of threads can't be explained or understood, just like the infinite probability drive in the later Hitchhiker's guide books. Actually rereading LaMA, I came across the reference that the IDA had been expanded by the Go4 to fight the jihad, so the loss of the AoJ may be much more serious than I'd previously thought. One can hope. L

Hi Chichladoria,
The maps seem to make many such detail errors, as the LaMA map of the South March Lands demonstrates. We don't know anything about Fraihan's wall, when it was built, who Fraihan was etc, because there's no textev anywhere. Given the apparent raids into Shwei Bay we'll see in HFQ, given the forts etc added there, we may finally learn more about it. L

South Harchong may get cut off but they are going to be well armed. Production of St. Klairs and cannon are concentrated in South Harchong. Tithes of Materials of war will not be able to ship (except to Desnair who has a surplus of Gold. Fraihans Wall may end up being a transfer point. Perhaps new roads will be built and commerce may prosper especially without the Churches involvement!
Desnair's problem is they are dependent on imports (some textev) with South Harchong soon to be the only entity to deal with (Sodar is POOR), perhaps this is win win for EoC
I am not young enough to know everything!

I'd like to point out that if you are shipping large quantities of anything on Safehold it needs to be done by water. Water transportation has a little problem called the ICN. Ground transportation costs about 5 times as much as water transportation.

Hi Iranuke,
Quite right. One wonders how long before the Go4 and Thirsk become aware of Sharpfield at Claw Island, which is just over 10,000 miles from Port Royal (~40-45 days). Evidently Sharpfield isn't to go too deep into the Gulf of Dohlar until he gets the KH-VII's in July-August, but Thirsk may not venture far from Dohlar after word of the demise of the AoS reaches GC. Since Gorath City is another 4000+ miles (at least 16-17 days) further, Thirsk's response will be somewhat delayed, even with ICN schooners and cruisers raiding along both coasts of Harchong, probably after they deal with the local squadron that called Claw home, so Thirsk may be down a squadron soon, with other single squadrons also at risk of being snapped up, unless Thirsk is able to warn them in time and , which might make the numbers more equal for Sharpfield. Given the possibility Thirsk can assemble the rest of his fleet, then the only 2 ironclads being becalmed while Thirsk is able to exploit the wind, his superior numbers could overwhelm Sharpfield's; unless Nahrmahn uses OWL's SNARC's to cause "accidental" explosions on some of Thirsk's ships to save the day, or drag the ironclads clear of the no wind region using their tractor beams. (which the Rakurai don't notice... Right!) L
Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!
