Sharps Claw <--> Springs From Above

Since they are both on Haven. It wouldn't be fair to pair a treecat on separate planets. Talk about a long distance romance!

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I was going to point out that they're both male, but in fact I just realised that we don't know their genders.

Frankly, I think it would be a bit amusing to see a tiny dappled Springs from Above on Tom's shoulder, and a big, fluffy, cream-and-grey Sharp Claw on Eloise's... more echoes of Honor and Hamish!!

(still on the Tom/Eloise train, always on the Tom/Eloise train... )

Heavens to mergatroid. I never considered gender. Anyway, even if they were the same gender, treecats can better afford to have one bent wrist. They have five more you see.

That's a very fast and powerful Amtrack train you're on rose.

Just a quick warning--be careful about spoilers. I'm not going to complain about the names of treecats assigned to guard duty, since we knew that was going to happen. Just remember not to reveal any real spoilers. Thanks. :)

...spoilers for what? All this treecat stuff - including the names of Tom's and Eloise's treecat bodyguards - comes from A Rising Thunder, which was published at least two years ago. The only current spoiler zone is Cauldron of Ghosts, and that's not even in the picture for this thread.

Thanks! I've ordered them all. 14 of each, for my niece and I and for my friends in Romania.

The treecat names are from A Rising Thunder? My apologies. I don't remember those treecats from that book. I'll have to reread it, I guess.

Haha, it's okay! Yes, they are, in passing. Tourville's treecat Lurks in Branches is the first mentioned, and then Honor notes that all the treecats, "from Pritchart's Sharp Claw to Theisman's Springs from Above", have personalities suspiciously close to those of the humans they're guarding. Then she muses on how that exactly worked out.

That's why I suggested there'll be bondings. Because their personalities are already similar. Of couse we don't know what a treecat actually looks for in a mate, we can only speculate. But I always imagined it to be similar personalities.
