My niece texted me 3:03 this morn with it.
Apparently she couldn't sleep and got up for a snack, turned on her comp and her cat traipsed across her keyboard and somehow she ended up on this site.

For reference it came from:

Then click on [Honor Harrington in other media]

GOD BLESS YOUR NIECE'S CAT.

It's a very beautiful cat. It looks like a leopard.
Savannah cat.
You wouldn't believe what I paid for it.
And on that front I don't think my sister will ever forgive me.

But I had no idea what they cost when I promised my niece I'd get her one.

I have a rep of never breaking promises.
This time it stung. :o

Sis worries someone will steal it.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Tell your sis to get it microchipped. Foolproof identification. :D

Now, back to business. By which I mean hooking up Allen Higgins. Allen + Leslie: yes or no?

Didn't know that was possible, will look into it!
Another thanks!

Depends which Leslie
Leslie Montreau, or Leslie Yestremensky? :D

 Which one do you think, Stinker??

And yes, microchipping is amazing. I advocate it to anyone with any pet, ever. It's quite literally a lifesaver.

Ladies, ladies,
think of this dramatically/literarily, as filtered through the pen of a man with the soul of a 19th century historian:

Admiral Lady Gloria Michelle Samantha Evelyn Henke, Countess Gold Peak >> << GrosAdmiral Chien-lu Anderman, Herzog von Rabenstrange

and of course, for soul mates (already foreshadowed by Tom Theisman's comments):

Shannon Forakker >> << Herlander Simoes

Chew on those for awhile.

Apparently we can't delete any more, but we can still edit.

Thanks.
Something else my niece stumbled upon.
Am I the only one that wasn't aware of this?

Actress Claudia Christian, who plays Susan Ivanova on Babylon 5, has been suggested as a potential candidate; Weber says "She’s much shorter than Honor, but so are most women, and I think she could handle the physicality... I think it’s more important to have someone who can portray Honor’s character and command style than it is to have someone who is six feet two inches tall." Weber's concern is that the director would push Christian to re-create Ivanova's character while playing Honor and "Ivanova’s command style is totally different from Honor’s."[6]

I did, indeed, say that. Please note, however, that it was quite some few years ago, and I fear Claudia (as myself) has aged in the interim. In other words, I'm afraid we need someone younger than Claudia for the role, especially if they're thinking about multiple movies over a period of several years.

Now, I can think of quite a few other Honorverse females Claudia might well fit . . . .

David

I just wrote a moderately long reply to this thread that said all that...but yours got in first!

So I guess I will defer to you, just because of timing, y'know.

BTW, I'm retired now, since a bit after HonorCon. So I know why I'm awake. What are YOU doing up? Silly me - writing, I hope.

Best wishes to Sharon. My spouse is laid up for a few weeks with a more minor but "can't walk" recoup, so I feel for...both of you.

BTW, I always pictured Ms Christian more as either Sonja Hemphil or Thedosia Kusak.

I've been working on Hell's Foundations and it does not look (alas) as if I am going to be attending early service later today after all, since I've now been up for about 21 hours straight.

Actually, you've hit upon one of the people I really think Claudia could do well: Theodosia. I also think she could have fun playing Cathy Montaigne (who is, like Elizabeth, somewhat older than Honor). For that matter, as a nod to RoseandHeather, we could always think about her for Estelle Matusko, yes . . . ?
