I made the following annotations on a subsection of the Pearls of Weber Safehold map as I was reading LAMA to help me visualize what the heck was going on. There are many guesses like where the hell the Army of Cliff Peak appeared from suddenly (I know, I know: Siddar City, but how and by what route exactly when is unclear). The locations of the woods and towns between Thesmar and Fort Tairys are all guesses as well. It gets pretty messy especially around Thesmar with all the marching back and forth, and I've left off some things like naval actions to the south.

Messy as it is, it helped me. If anyone else needs help as well, it can be accessed at http://www.nfgarland.ca/Safehold_MTnT2.jpg

I also notice that the batteries put in place in Sandfish Marsh at the beginning of the book are now directly in front of the escaping Ahlverez. That might actually be the first scene of the next book as much as anything else.

Thanks for this - very useful!

One thing that I think is missing, is that I believe there is a Charisian mounted brigade to the east of Fort Sandfish. I can't remember if RFC put it in LAMA, or in this forum.

I'm mentioning it, as it is on the other flank of Ahlverez, effectively boxing him in (with Thesmar on the western flank, the Army of Cliffpeak to the north, the mounted brigade to the east, and the batteries at Sandfish March to the south).
.

Later,
Matt

Thanks for that :-)
I'm looking forward to the day when we will get interactive maps with the 'books' so we can see the movements unroll whilst we are reading

Thanks to all above for the nice comments. I really did wonder if I should post it as it's not very professional and was done for personal use.

It's in dozens of layers in native GIMP format and I may make a time lapse version when I have spare time at some point.

I would also like thank you. I greatly appreciated it.

Despite appearances, I think most here appreciate whatever people do and want to share. I wouldn't go out of your way but if you have it ... :D

Thanks again,

Hi JGNFld,

Thanks very much for the effort.

I'm sorry but it's failed for me though I've tried it twice because of some errors that prevent it etc.

Looking forward to it, whenever its up.

L

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Don't know what the problem could be. It is a standard jpg file, but the size is large as the canvas is 7390x6285 pixels.

Thanks! This was extremely helpful, since I kept wondering where the Army of Cliff Peak came from.

The only error I see on the map is that the canal from Guarnak to the Sylmahn gap is still intact. The Delthak turned around at Guarnak and headed west again. That may or may not be important, since the Delthak destroyed a large amount of the supplies stockpiled there, but the AoSG is probably still using that canal - or at least it did until the canal froze up.

"Oh bother", said Pooh as he glanced through the airlock window at the helmet he'd forgotten to wear.

Personally, I'm STILL wondering!

As for the canal, yeah, that fits now that I think of it. When I drew that layer I was thinking it was unuseable, but that would be farther south due to the dams, etc., now that you remind me. I've fixed it on my master and the uploaded jpg. I also lowered the opacity of the marching routes so the underlying details are less hidden.
