I spotted a discrepancy while rereading the earlier Safehold novels that I found interesting.
On Page 380 of By Schism Rent Asunder we have Sharleyan's full name given formally as 'Sharleyan Ahdel Alahnah Ahrmahk' On Page 642 of the Nook version of Like a Mighty Army her full formal name is given as 'Sharleyan Alahnah Zhenyfyr Ahlyssa Ahrmahk' Cayleb's name stayed the same between the two though! |

I assume you are quoting the scene in LAMA where Sharleyan is taking his oath. If that is so to anyone trying to look it up, its on page 536 of the hardback not 642 of the nook.
I completely didn't catch that. I thank you for pointing it out since I for one would probably not have caught a shift in the names. I checked the character lists in all the books and the first three (OAR-By Heresies Distressed) she is in them only as "Tayt, Queen Sharleyan" in all the rest (A Mighty Fortress-LAMA) she is "Ahrmahk, Sharleyan Alahnah Zhenyfyr Ahlyssa Tayt." I checked the wedding in BSRA and it doesn't use her name that I saw and I don't remember another scene that might have used it. I don't know why the name changed but I can say it happened a couple years ago it just hadn't appeared in dialogue yet, only in the character list. Wolf |

It's the scene where Cayleb is accepting Nahrmaan's fealty oath. I saw it and was 'waitasecond that changed...'

Hi LetteredWolf,
Yup, Kudos to LordSunhawk for pointing it out, though I had an itchy feeling remembering something was wrong or missing, and it was -the 'Ahdell' which I rather liked more than 'Alahnah'. But its been almost 6 years since BSRA, so give the guy a break, eh? There have been and will be several typos in each book as pointed out by here by the many fans who outnumber the poor author and proofreaders. There have also been many fans who have cheerfully offered to help proofread, without pay to catch these, but Tor and the author seem strangely uninterested... L
Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Found another instance of the BSRA formulation of Sharleyan's name in How Firm a Foundation in the scene where Cayleb is accepting Gorjah's fealty oath. So far the two times the 'Ahdel' form of the name have appeared have been with Cayleb speaking.

Hi LordSunhawk,
Perhaps RFC simply copied the second from the first time in that case, and thought he got it right in the others, being on a tight writing schedule. L

And again, although this time it's Sharleyan herself using the Ahdel formulation when she accepts Nahrmann the Younger's oath. So far 'Ahdel' has only shown up in these oath of fealty scenes, although it *doesn't* show up in LaMA.
