Popping in to say, if there's anyone I would most like to find happiness (and most doubt will find it... ) it's Herlander.
Losing a child, and in such a way? I cannot imagine anything worse. |

I am glad that Michelle has met Lester Tourville at the dinner party organized by Tom Theisman "in fact, she'd discovered she rather liked him, which she hadn't really expected to." quote from storm from the shadows.
But there is one thing that I have been wondering about Michelle.I cannot remember reading that she has had a romantic relationship with anyone. Has she ever fallen in love with anyone? Has her life been totally without romance? |

IIRC (from Storm in the Shadows?), Michelle has a fairly vigorous sexlife, heterosexual to the best of my rememberance, but nothing serious to date. ***********************************************

That's what I remember, too - her romantic relationships have always been casual. I really do think, though, that Lester could sweep her off her feet.... ~*~

Yea, for certain. Our little darlings Henriet and Harriet for sure. But the atmosphere of Cerberus just doesn't evoke in me images of finding one's true love. Especially when your sweetheart might attract the attentions of a any StateSec officer wanting to take her as a sexual slave. And especially since wariness of being selected as a sexual slave would have made the women to do everything they could to look unappeasing. Fifty plus years in captivity would certainly force me to choose anyone for physical considerations, but would still leave me...empty. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

Hutch, methinks you would be the only one to find it not so difficult to approach a woman that is fifth in line for succession to the throne. Why you ole sly fox. Poor Herlander. Hopefully helping to blow the MA into subatomic particles will go some way toward healing, but I would be very, very surprised if he ever let himself get close enough to someone to form a romantic attachment with them again. That said, marriages are an ancient human way of cementing alliances, and what better to cement the Grand Alliance than a few Grayson-Haven or Manticore-Haven weddings?? Like, oh, Haven's highest-ranking admiral and the queen's first cousin?? ~*~

Speaking of something cross-nation romantic entanglements... Have there been many Manticore-Grayson marriages? There's Michael-Judith and (in some sense, I suppose) Honor herself but you'd think that after 20+ years of a very close alliance there'd be more pairings between the two nations. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

So would I. He is hurting, really hurting. I tried to pair him with Shannon. Two people liking playing with their Spacely Sprockets. Initially I was surprised that the Alignment could obviously alienate someone in such an easily preventable manner. I was shocked that they could be so insensitive. Then, in hindsight, I am shocked that I am shocked. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. Almost forgot. Is Dr. Aref married? I'd like to pair her up with someone, to keep her even more visible in the storyline. I'm thinking Herlander. In tandem with Dr. Aref, he might even be able to develop some sort of artificial speech system governed by movements of the appropriate limbs. That way, treecats would be able to communicate with the population as a whole. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense.
