IIRC the Harrington family dog was one of the RW most popular breeds for a family dog, namely the Golden Retriever.

I could see her with a Persian. Oh, yes. It has to be a big white Persian cat. She can hold it in her lap and pet it while she glares at a subordinate who has faild her.

...this is the most delicious image I have had in a very long time. well, most delicious that didn't involve eloise naked, anyway...

But it has to be a dollface Persian, because 1) I flatly refuse to believe that feline breeders would be stupid enough to keep the ultra-Peke face around for two thousand years, and 2) a dollface would reflect her inner goodness, while still keeping the whole "I am the President of the Republic of Haven and by God if you hurt my star nation you will pay" thing she has going on.
