I'm really curious as to the identity of the chairman of the Alliance joint chiefs of staff. I mean has rfc brought in a new character or is it someone we have encountered before. And if it is someone we know, have we seen her (or him) recently.

Here's a question: Are genetic slaves' DNA kept on file by Mesa? One assumes yes... so does that mean all of them are potential vehicles for another mind-control nano attack?

2) More Info on the renegade Solly Intel Captain and his "covert" group that met in the archeives 3) More on the activities of Prince Michael -- since he still is active duty (Comm / Intel) |

I would like to know what Dicey's reaction will be to Michelle Henke's treecat Bodyguard. At the end of Shadow of Freedom Dicey was " establishing ownership over her as well as Billingsley"
Dicey is a large Maine Coon Cat. I would also like to know if Michelle Henke is going to be adopted by a treecat. I was thinking that she might have one of those mind glows that are attractive to treecats.Michelle is a cousin of Elizabeth Winton and a lot of the Winton family have been adopted by treecats. |

Could be...I don't know if they'd want to put a Havenite in charge of that though considering a Manticorn/Grayson is in overall command of the battle fleet; keep some balance in the Grand Alliance. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

Does the Grand Alliance need a joint chiefs of staff? They currently have an overall Commanding Officer (Honor) and Commanding Officers for each of the participating fleets. Did the Alliance during World War II have a joint chiefs of staff? Does NATO? Or did/do they just have an overall commander plus commanders of each participating unit, plus administrative structure? NATO appears to have a Military Committee, but that appears to be parallel to the Allied Command Operations rather than superior to it. I'm not sure how they are really structured. --------------------------------------------

I don't know whether they need one or not but in ART it's stated that they do have one. During Prince Michael's wedding the text lists all of the distinguished guests who attended and it mentions "the chairman of the Alliance joint chiefs of staff". We've all been wondering who exactly that is. *~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*

WW II definitely saw US and Britain with joint chiefs of staff, and I think the Grand Alliance could use such a structure. Will they realize it in time, though? There's a lot of operational planning and coordination and allocation above the fleet command level -- try reading Alanbrooke's diaries sometime to see what might be involved. The Grand Alliancemight try to handle that at the head of state level, though, instead of a joint planning body... Which would induce Issues similar to those the Entente faced during World War I, or Soviet/British+US issues duringWorld War II. |
