How about Diamato/Truman? I have no idea what their respective ages are though...

In a society that has prolong age differences do not matter so much. For example Hamish is much older than Honor.

I think Scotty would be perfect for Abigail.
Abigail needs someone easygoing, and the way Scotty dealt with Carolyn Wolcott's problems aboard Fearless with the Graysons was so sweet. If she had lived Cupid would have had an easy time with that one.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Pfffffffff. No way. Abby needs someone with a fire as hot as hers - though he doesn't always show it. She needs someone who can understand both the aristocrat and the officer in her - someone who can accept her strength as a Navy lifer and yet really appreciate her femininity as well.

By which I mean she needs Michael Oversteegen. :D Part of him will always be an old-fashioned, courtly gentleman - who better to speak to Abby's traditional side?

As for Scotty... part of me subscribes to the idea that he's a part of "Honor's harem" and happy to be so.

The other part thinks he's primed to fall in love with a Havenite. :D (Not Shannon, though. Shannon is all Sonja's.) What about that adorable little staff communications officer of Tourville's - Anita Eisenberg?

Wow, that name really shows you are a hardcore fan. I barely recognized it.

You don't think Delaney could learn to love a Manticoran, especially one who is as cute as Scotty? (I don't know how much stock to put in his description via the whole Beauty and the Beast thing...)

Delaney? Absolutely, but I think she'd go for someone older - just a vibe I'm getting. She feels like an "old soul", while Scotty's always felt young to me. Perhaps Fritz Montoya? I think the fact that he always treated Havenite POWs with courtesy and to the limits of his ability would go a long way with her. Yes, she's lost people to the RMN - but here's a man who ensured that there were some she didn't have to lose.

There's just no chance that you're ever going to budge off of that Shannon/Sonja thing is there?

Well I suppose, during one of their heated arguments at Bolthole over the use of either Spacely Sprockets or Cogswell Cogs a kiss might ensue.

But I remain open to Oversteegen and Abby because of his own lofty birth hence his inherent ability to deal with snooty aristocrats which should serve him well on an excursion of meet the parents, and Graysons.

I have been on the Shannon/Sonja train since Shannon was put in charge of Bolthole. (Besides, apparently RFC once said that they become instant best friends the moment they meet. Which does not surprise me in the least.) I'm as stuck to that as I am to Augustus/Estelle. IT WOULD BE A GALACTIC SINGULARITY OF TECHNOGEEK LESBIAN NERD LOVE.

As for Michael and Abby... come on, read the last few pages of "The Service of the Sword" and tell me the foundations aren't there!! :D

Why rose,

You make TECHNOGEEK LESBIAN NERD LOVE sound so inevitable and...wanton.

Wish I could chaperone that first date...you know be Sonja's wingman, and I promise not to try and steal Shannon for meself.

What, who said that! :D

I'll do my homework and read those pages.

Believe me, in my brain, it is inevitable. And wanton. Besides, a laboratory has so many interesting surfaces that offer so many possibilities.... *dreamy smile*

Oh my God, you have to read the entire short story if you haven't yet. Anthology of the same name. Abby Hearns being a total badass! Michael Oversteegen being himself! My ovaries exploding into miniscule pieces!!

...oh, wait, that last one was just me? Whoops. :D

I leave for... what? a day or so, and you guys go ahead and discuss so much stuff. Sheez, I thought I was the only person that shipped people. I can just see David Weber shaking his head right now.

Question: Is Denis LePic married? I do not remember. I think he is. If he isn't lets find someone to ship him with.
