Perhaps, to satisfy your want for an unusual Beowulf arrangement you could try adding Jacques Benton-Ramirez y Chou to any of your Eloise/Theisman/Higgins combinations..?
Stepping back from the insanity...how about Ginger Lewis and Aubrey Wanderman? I thought they were so cute in HoE.
I've seen Theisman/LePic bandied about, too, and liked it quite a bit. The problem is, it's one of those pairings I like far more in my own (and other people's) fantasies than I think I would in canon, and that's what I've been sticking to here.
There's a handful of pairings I like dreaming about without necessarily actually wanting them to happen - for instance, I have a terrible weakness for Elizabeth/Eloise - and Tom/Denis happens to be one of those. Which isn't to say I don't think it
should be canon: if that's the direction RFC wants to go, I'll trot along in his wake like a good little puppy and be quite happy about it. I just think that, given where both characters are right now, there are better matches out there for Tom as he is now than Denis. (If we were still back in the pre- or immediately-post-Coup days, however, it would be a whole 'nother kettle of fish.)
(Besides, at least in my head, Denis is married to someone we haven't met yet - and with a few notable exceptions, I, like Allison Harrington, tend toward the monogamous.)
As of now, the pairings I actually want to happen in canon (and, more to the point, think actually
could happen) include Augustus/Estelle, Sonja/Shannon, Lester/Michelle, Michael/Abigail, Alfredo/Mercedes, and Tom/Eloise. Not to mention Allen/anyone who will love him!
As for Ginger and Aubrey... dammit, I want answers! Did they? Didn't they?
