Now that some of us have read LaMA, it is time to make predictions about HFQ.
Spoiler Warning repeared. . . . . . . . . . Here is mine: the book starts with the Army of Glaicerheart meeting most of Eastshare's armies, having just received word about what happened to the Army of the Sylman. Hennet tries to bravely run away. Position change Nahrman eating popcorn reviewing Ahlverez surrendering and the Church's troop movements The capslock breechloader armed portion of the Mighty Host have be ordered to scramble to guard the concentration camps. The Horse Archers, the slingers, the rest of the rifles will be sent to deploy from Dohlar to replace the Army of Shiloh, and reinforce the now piked Kaitswyrth. The remainder of the Host is set to 'guard' the Border States. |

Nope. We open with Green Valley crushing the contingent Bishop Bahrnabai sent to Allyntyn. The rest might work out as you speculate. After that we shift to politics as Kaitswyrth is a dead duck and unworthy of "face time" resisting against 150k ICA/RSA combined forces. He either runs away or is thrashed off screen.
Then we shift to politics and getting the KH VII's into the Gulf of Dohlar and establishing coaling stations. I suspect we will end with Clyntahn going down, Thirsk's navy thrashed, Gorath and King Rahnald appropriately dealt with and Duchairn offering a truce Cayleb and Sharley must accept. |

Nimue's potential really intrigues me. How will her personality form? Unlike Merlin, Nimue never had to forge completely in her own into a foreign world knwoing no one and unable to trust a soul. She can learn quickly what she needs with her intact high speed data transfer system. Yet like Merlin she begins as a bodyguard to royal youngsters.
This character's development will almost be that what if we all ask ourselves from time to time. How would our lives be different if.....? The prospect of reading RFC's take on this truly intrigues me. |

I hope that the Prologue of HFQ will deal with the surprise in the Epilogue of LAMA.

Even though I haven't listened to all of LaMA yet, I'm wondering if Aivah could be part of another group of Scheuler's wardens like the Wylsyns. Probably not with another Key, but another holoprojector.

Plenty of guesses.
I just don't have a good record of guessing correctly. However, there was a comment about Merlin not knowing how Aviah contacted her people in Zion and that meant that she had Federation technology. Quote from September Year Of God 896, Chapter I Merlin considered what she’d said … and what she hadn’t. He didn’t doubt she contacted them as infrequently as she could, especially since he still hadn’t caught her at it, even with the benefit of his SNARCs. But clearly there was at least some communications flow in the opposite direction, given her ability to keep track of “her people’s” accomplishments, and he found himself wondering how that flow was managed. He started to ask, but didn’t. End Quote While it's definite that Merlin didn't know how she doing it, I'm not convinced yet that she has Federation communications tech. She's a known businesswoman so she likely has been sending and receiving coded letters. While I'm no expert, I suspect that some of her coded letters were sent to Zion via some other locations. IE a person received a letter from her but one of the codes told the person to forward the letter to another person in Zion. Even with SNARCs, it would be hard to cover all her letters and know that some were forwarded elsewhere. Especially when those SNARCs would be needed to cover more important targets. Learning how her communications worked would be closer to a matter of curiosity than a necessity.

Yeah, what is the source of that com gear I wonder? I would like to believe it was a losing faction in the War of the Fallen. The gear was passed down unused in the convent she was educated in. Or perhaps used sparingly. Nynian of course persuaded the Abess/Mother Superior to release that gear to her. If not persuaded nynian simply took the gear and connected her old school friends to form the backbone of her network.

Another thought about the com gear is how easy would it be to use without knowledgeable help?
Also, the Inner Circle has OWL to assist in "directing calls" to different individuals as well as to provide assistance in extremely long distance calls. There are several places were SNARCs are referred to assisting long distance communications between Merlin and OWL. Judging by the size of the Inner Circle com gear and how easy it was to disguise the com gear, any remaining Federation com gear might not be recognizable as "sacred artifacts". While that's useful in disguising them, it could mean that the older com gear, to be useful, would have to be in the hands of somebody who knew what they were. Some (including myself) have speculated that Aivah is a member of a group founded by Schueler but the Wylsynns, who were started by Schueler, were not given "angelic communicators". If Aivah's group have "angelic communicators", why didn't Schueler provide the Wylsynns with "angelic communicators"?

Regarding Nimue, My guess is that she starts teaching Daivyn, Irys and Hektor Kendo as part of Hektor's "physical rehabilitation".
She's already teaching Irys how to shoot, so why not? Oh, and Hektor will teach Daivyn how to shoot... ~~~~~~
