"For all I know - or all I can prove anyway he might've been ambushed and devoured by space hamsters" This comment was made by Denis LePic about Victor Cachat's possible location in Mission of Honor.
I would like to know more about space hamsters. If they are fierce enough that Denis thinks that they could ambush and eat someone like Victor Cachat then they must be the terror of the spaceways. Also why haven't we heard more about them? Are they only a menance in Haven's area of space? Are they tiny ,furry and dangerous with very sharp teeth attacking in large numbers or large, furry and menancing with very sharp teeth attacking in large packs? How do they deal with the vacuum of space? I really want to know.

You'll really need to talk to Minsc about that. He would know better than anyone, having Boo for a companion.

She taught at ATC whenever Honor couldn't make it to a class.

Yes, but in AoV she noted that Honor wasn't going to give her the chance to go through it herself, implying that she hadn't done it before Honor took her on. That doesn't mean she hasn't gone through it since - it's only a six-month course, after all, and it's entirely possible she did it off-screen between AoV and WoH, but I would still love to know for sure.

It's career death to not pass it. So she had either passed it previously or would have taken it off-screen.

It's career death to flunk it if you want ship command, but not everybody attends.

Andrea might not be able to take it, she's been an instructor there, and knows things that would make it unfair.

There's also the question about whether or not it's possible to go off to ship command -- which is the thing the Crusher is pass/fail for -- after a long stint as a fleet tactical officer on the commanding admiral's staff. The normal progression probably has you doing fleet tactics after your hyper-capable command stint, or at least the first, relatively-small-ship one. Plus the fleet command teams tend to be very stable in the RMN.

So while it's possible for a combination of "taught it, has an equivalence", "Honor says good things", "we're really short of captains", and "here's your SD" to happen, I don't think it will, I think Andrea's not going to get a ship command of her own because she's much too useful to Eighth Fleet.

Does the Mesan Alignment know where Bolthole is?

Somewhere in Storm from the Shadows we get the original objectives for Oyster Bay, "Manticore, Grayson, and all the major Havenite building centers". Since the MAN has to know that Bolthole exists, that ought to mean Bolthole was on the original Oyster Bay target list.

Can anyone tell me all of the courses taken? Was it listed somewhere? Perhaps in Saganami Island? The courses anyways, not the scores. Whom do you think were the highest overall scorers?

Think White Haven outscored Honor?
Alice Truman? Oversteegen? Etc.

Does anyone know anyone who knows someone whom can look at the scores? :D

It would be interesting to see but since the course changes so often I think any attempt to compare scores between different classes would be impossible.

Remember, the course is continually being updated and the curriculum is always changing. There might be core areas that people are scored on in a similar fashion that could be compared but anything outside of that would be tough to do.

They don't. Elizabeth notes in ART that if Manticore couldn't find Bolthole, chances are pretty good that no one else could either. That's why Hemphill &co are taking off for Bolthole and turning it into the GA's primary shipyard - it should be safe from an Oyster Bay-like attack.

That tells me the Grand Alliance thinks the MAN doesn't know where Bolthole is. The MAN had the Legislaturists -- who probably started the place -- pretty thoroughly penetrated in an intelligence sense. So it's possible Her Majesty, and everyone else, is wrong about that, especially since it's precisely the sort of over-confidence that leads to bite marks on one's butt.

(On the other hand, I expect Bolthole's sensors are pretty good and that a lot of ghost rider platforms accompanied Admiral Hemphill.)

I keep wondering why it isn't extremely easy to tell where ships get built based on isotope fingerprinting; take some heavy elements found on the ship (or parts of ship), figure out what what the isotope mix is, compare to handy database of star system compositions. It's probably not having a large enough database, or making a mistake in where to look. ("Somewhere in Haven space" might be excessively restrictive, for example.)
