Who would make a good Honor Harrington in a Movie/TV role?

One actress that came to mind while watching Quigley Down Under is Laura San Giacomo.

After seeing her in other movies I think that she would be fantastic as Honor Harrington.

Laura San Giacomo is a fantastic actress. She is also 52 years old.

If they do want to go for a largely unknown actress to play Honor, one possibility is the lovely and incredibly talented Joanna Sotomura. She's already displayed incredible versatility, and she's astonishingly good at what she does.

I think Stana Katic would make an excellent Honor. SHe has poise and charactor for that type of role.

As much as I love Jewel, she's far too old to play someone in their early-to-mid 20's. Besides, Abigail doesn't show up until much later in the series, and since the movie is supposed to be The Honor of the Queen, by the time they get around to making one with Abby, Jewel will definitely be too old.

OTOH, I could actually see a case being made for her to play Shannon Foraker.

I've always seen Shannon as blonde, but I think Jewel Staite would make an excellent Shannon Foraker.

My current pick for Abigail is, surprisingly enough, Shailene Woodley -- though obviously that will probably have changed by the time she appears onscreen, assuming the movie series ever gets that far. Shailene's definitely got the goods to play the role, and I think she'll only get better as the years go on.

I think that Jewel would be great cast as Mercedes Bingham. It would be even better casting if they were starting with OBS or if there are ever OBS flashbacks.
