But that's my point about Ginger dear.
We love her at Engineering but we have to let her go.
I think she shall surprise us.

But you are right of course. Leadership ability doesn't in itself make a Captain.

Can we share Estelle and Honor?

Honor, yes. (Actually, you can have her - I've got my hands full as it is.)

But Estelle and Augustus are mine. *snatches*

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Not my Governor and her Admiral, I don't! They're my darlings! :P

That's why you have tac officers.

Tactical is the fast track to command, it's not the only track to command. Think of the comm officers who we have seen in command positions.

Because she deserves the promotion? Because not everyone is command material, so you need to foster those who are and make use of their skills?

If you two don't start sharing, I will take them BOTH away, and nobody will get either.

Um...sorry. parenting seems to be a habit.

In other news, I really don't get see one liners from Mr. Weber's works. Most of the best need context to support them. He just doesn't tend to write lines like Firefly's "I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you."

You are correct crewdude48. Many of the good one-liners need contextual support. That is why I said 'oneliner-like' moments in my original post.

However I edited the post just yesterday to give more leeway to read something like 'try to keep it down to one line or as close to one line as possible.'

Sometimes, even myself, I think entire paragraphs are called for. That would be fine by me...just italicize, bold, underline or whatever the one-liner!

Thanks fot pointing this out. I thought about changing it before but I didn't want people to reprint David's entire works. You know we would!

With pressure from the people consider the ban lifted...

Raise the curtain...

Ah, yes.

Imagined conversation:
Admiral [noting yet another Manty tech surprise]:
XO, what's the budget for the ONI?
Vice Admiral: I don't recall exactly, sir. Several billion quatloos.
Admiral: ... What do you suppose they did with all that money?

Mateo and Abigail...unique.

Query, was it ever mentioned exactly who Mateo is, as in his family?

Perhaps some of you kind Honorpedias will help?
