What would the story be without its villains?

I love Asinimovna. The snake in the Garden of Eden. The personification of all we hate. The goddess set up for the fall.

The Alignment is an ideology. An idea. Sure - one can hate ideas but hating a person is so much more satisfying!
Anisimovna personifies all that is bad about the Alignment. How one can hate her! And dream of her getting shown the error of her ways!

Or even worse: What if she starts to open her eyes at some point? Starts on a journey of redemption of her own maybe making us sympathize with her - with evil personified! And of course looking at what she has done already she never, ever can redeem herself! And then she falls.

It's possible. A lot of Alignment types do seem to feel uncomfortable about mass slaughter when the time actually comes. Anisimovna did feel the tiniest bit of a qualm when it came to the New Tuscany Incident.

I feel most of the Alignment are sort of in a "following orders" mentality. Even Albrecht could be said to be taking orders from his heritage, following a plan originally formulated by someone who said "Hey, let's impose our(my?) way of life on everyone in the universe."

In a sense, that's what happened to the Legislaturalists. They were trapped into DuQuesne's plan and kept running with it long after it became obvious something needed to change. Will the Alignment have its own Pierre or Theisman?

Andrea Jaruwalski career would have probably righted itself eventually. She is far to good of an officer for an ass like Santino to destroy her permanently. Key word in that is probably and eventually, Honor kicked that process into high gear.

My favorite characters though...

Aivars Terekhov, Abigaile Hearns, Augustus Khumalo, and Judah Yanakov. In not particular order. I think its quite telling that 3 of those 4 are all from the same plot line/sub series.

Jennifer Bellefeuille.

I mean, think about her! She's this wickedly sharp tactical mind who puts up a brilliant defense at Chantilly, and then she shows up again as a task force commander in Grand Fleet!

I love Jennifer Bellefeuille. I love her lots.

Another vote cast for Jennifer Bellefeuille.
I also think she was a tactical genious.
Remember Chantilly, in Cutworm II?

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Adam.
He gave his life to save his sister. The SS goons, the pilot tried to take her back to their camp to do unmentionable things. I have five sisters of my own. My heart goes out to him!

Anne Bancroft,
Talk about sacrificing all for your beliefs!
And then talk about those beliefs!
Warned the moderates about the faithful's doomsday weapon.

Heck, bracket all of the above---just the fact that the Masadans consider her the "Harlot of Satan."
