Yes, boballab, I remember it well.
Except that there were "many" of us then, several (swt, waddles, others) posted often and earned promotions quickly, and the Promotion Schedule was the same then as now. Somewhere on WeberForums is a list of Members, the Number Of Posts that they have made, and the Date That Each Joined. HTM who notes that "I remember it well" is a line from a duet between W C Fields and Mae West [quote="boballab"]Howard do you remember how it used to be 4.5 years ago when it was Namelessfly, yourself, myself and few others? It was real hard to get promoted quickly, tho Namelessfly sure tried hard using BC(P)'s Heck that was even back in the days before Duckk was made the Major Domo of this house. [quote="Howard T. Map-addict"]Promotion requirements: When you register: Midshipman. Your 10th post makes you an Ensign. 25: Lt. J. G. 50: Lieutenant 100: Commander 150: Captain J. G. 200: Captain 300: Commodore 400: Rear Admiral 500: Vice Admiral 700: Admiral 1000: Admiral of the Fleet HTM |

The immediate followup is even better. "It's not like I kill anyone who doesn't need killing." |

No, dear. That was Eloise Pritchart's first bombshell to one Elizabeth Winton. You know, the one that came right after she'd sailed into Manticoran space unannounced and persuaded Admiral Harrington to bring her to the Manticoran home system because she wanted a peace treaty and a military alliance? ~*~

No, Mesa is. And another favorite: "If I were a loose warhead, I'd already have done something stupid. In which case we wouldn't be freezing our asses off out here." |
