"Get screwed, Deborah."
Yeah, Michael's so much fun at family reunions....
One more from that memorable conversation:I will just take the opportunity t' tell you, since I don't believe I've ever done it before at one of our family gatherin's—not precisely, I mean—just how brainless you are, Deborah. Truly brainless. Not simply stupid. Bar-ain-less. As in: brains of a carrot."
and one more (I can't stop myself...):"Don't be silly," Berry scolded. "It's just your first lovers' spat. You accused of him of being an inhuman fiend, and he got a little miffed. No big deal."

There is basically nothing I do not love about Michael Oversteegen. To wit, this wonderful line from "The Service of the Sword": "'I commend t' your consideration the example of the treecat, Mr. Grigovakis,' he said. 'At first glance, treecats are simply fuzzy, adorable woodland creatures. But they, too, look after their own, and no hexapuma in his right mind ventures into their range. I trust the applicable implications will not be lost upon you.'"
Translation: "So much as make Abigail Hearns slightly uncomfortable in any way, and I will shred your career like tissue paper without so much as batting an eyelash."
...oh, yes. I love me some Michael Oversteegen.
