WTF is with all the blue? A blue-eyed Honor, blue cats? Does this "artist" think he is a reincarnation of Picasso?

OTOH, If the comic book goes with this art work, and I use the word art loosely, I may buy several of them. Not to read of course, but it should be a very rare collectors item.

Isn't it obvious?
Someone in that gunfight is using an Honorverse Taser, and Nimitz just took a direct hit! Actually, I think that I caught a glimpse of that thing swimming around in a waste disposal unit on the Death Star. The depiction of Honor is an improvement. But, that version of Nimitz needs to slink back into Final Fantasy. |

Has anyone considered that the artist may have been reading our comments, had an artistic hissy fit, and decided "How dare they criticize my divine work? If they want something to bitch about, cop this."

It's more or less what I assumed, since, you know, RFC said they're reading these. I'm really not too concerned about the picture, other than the coloring it's a good starting point for refinement on Nimitz. A bit longer hair and the body would be fine. |

I actually like this version of Honor.
The mutant beast-thing clinging to her shoulderblades, on the other hand...horns, backs spines, a spiked tail...it's like they hired H.R. Giger, had him read the battle scene in the Protector's dining room, then fed him a double dose of LSD and put him to work. |

The gun looks similar to a couple of things I have seen in fiction, the most recent being the police pistols in "Almost Human" on Fox. Except for the min-granade launcher buit in where you might expect a laser point device, is POSSIBLE as a handgun.
As far as the lizzard on Honor's shoulders, if that showed up in my shed, my responce would probably be 00 buck, 00 buck, slug. RFC did a masterfull job creating Treecats as something that appeal to humans plus the major advantage of being sentient and empathic (with humans). They are relatively small, they are furry and cuddly, they are social. I would LOVE a 25lb(ish) Treecat. The challange would be bonding with one. Humans will make pets or companions of all sorts of things, usually mammals, often smaller predators we find usefull like ferrets plus cats and dogs we can get along with (the large cats like leopards are NOT recommended). Primates don't do so well as pets or companions (contrary to a lot of fiction) but some find the small ones interesting. Dam few will take their "pet" crocodile for a ride on their shoulder. |

Just a thought...has anyone told the folks at Evergreen to check out what our friend in France (Ghenkis) has been doing for Honor Harrington covers there?
If someone from Evergreen is monitoring this site, head over to deviant art, search "Honorverse" and you'll find his cover art easily enough. Wonder what he would come up with? ***********************************************
