Now that's the way to play high stakes poker (corporate). Apple is almost as bad as Microsoft but the tech support seems to better trained than Microsoft's tech support. Personally, they make a great product but all their products are made in China. Supposedly, that's going to change but the proof will be in the pudding.

I don't object to the quality of Apple products. My observation (not being an Apple user), is that they tend to be stable. That they work very well with each other. And that the quality is good.
My objection, which I feel very strongly about (Enough that I don't own any Apple products), is that Apple locks you in to certain parameters. I cannot load just any video I want on to my iPhone, or iPad. There are all sorts of DRMs associated with Apple products. I cannot tinker with an Apple PC. Adjust settings or background processes but to a limited degree. More than that, if I want a program, I need to get it from the Apple store. I understand why Apple has all these policies in place, and I know it works for them. I simply don't like or care for these policies. So I don't buy Apple. |

Fully agree with all your points Fireflair. I'd also add that their products are bland, to use a car comparison they are the automatic Toyota appliance which is reliable but unexciting, while I'm a petrol head modifying my gear. There is another less logical objection in that I've noticed a sort of smug tribe that uses Apple, along with their automatic Honda Accord, P&C member, middle management, blinkered outlook, and neat suburban house; and I'm not a member of that tribe.

It's probably most telling that Apple's PC market share is <10%, and their tablet is <30% despite the quality, durability and stability of what the produce. Their closest rival for tablets is Samsung, with ~20%, but Samsung's growing their market while Apple's is shrinking. Personally I think it's the lack of expansion ports (SIM cards and USB) that kills the iPad. Besides my intense dislike of Apple in general, those were the two key features that made me get an Icona Tab A for my tablet. The iPhone has dropped down to <15% market share, with Android products utterly dominating cell phones right now. |

Wish it was true. Just a hoax joke unfortunately. Because seriously, Apple would deserve the headache of dealing with that amount of coin. The lawsuit is beyond stupid, because if for real, then Apple has in turn infringed on CBM, Samsung, Microsoft, Nokia, Motorola, Hitachi and another 40-50 companies(and that´s the MINIMUM). The fact that Samsung is actually the company that manufactures a large part of Apple´s devices involved in the lawsuit just makes the whole thing utterly insane. |

Apple also tend to sell at ridiculously high prices. Doesn´t matter if they´re good quality(and they´re not even that all the time), when the pricetag says you should be getting a 2 for 1 deal. Or sometimes even a 5 for 1 deal, because that´s the level of profit margins they play with. Not to mention some of their unfriendly policies, not good when you´re getting sued by thousands of people at a time once or twice per year for things like seriously stating "no we dont sell those batteries separately, you have to buy a new device"(at least they were forced to change that one in the end). Absurd. |

As a long time AAPL owner all I have to say is that this is all good. Of course it explains why I use Android and Microcrap. But if your going to buy Apple, buy AAPL. ________________________________________

Recently, I had to move my computer from the office space to my bedroom. The computer had all it's fans replaced. The computer has been quiet as a mouse until today. One of the brand new fans have failed and is emitting tons of sound. I don't think their under warranty by the store (Fry's) or that I can take it back with a receipt (over a month). Whoah is me. For I think I have been jinked by the hardware Gods because piece after piece of computer equipment has been failing lately. I guess it's time to make the long journey to replace this system fan!
When taking the computer box apart, I discovered the chip fan had gone out but I had a spare in the closet. Now the computer is operating quietly once again. However, my new stepson has discovered a way around the computers filters I set up on his computer. The computer runs windows 7 and he restored the computer to before I setup the filters. Pretty smart! As a result, I reinstalled the internet filters and deleted the old restore points and created a new restore point. Then I backed up the system. I think I am not going to say a word about what I have done to his computer. I want to see how he acts and what he says when he discovers that he can't go to the porn sites without an email being sent to his mom! If I drank, I would be giggling like a little kid when I see his reactions to what I have done! |

That's evil, man. You can take away his bike, his pocket money, his car (if he's old enough) and ground him for life, but that's nothing compared to taking away his porn! Where's the fun in life as a teenager without porn... :/ |
