I'd love to see either Michaela Conlin (Bones) or Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) in the Honor role...if only either one was 2" taller.

Here you go guys! A couple of hundred working film actresses 5'10" and taller. About half are too old or way out of the Honor's described racial type, but then don't let mere blonde or red hair distract you from ladies having the necessary solid acting and physical chops.
Ex: Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) might be a good choice, with her own following fans, and some face and name recognition, while still being not too prominent and expensive for the project, though it would be a shame to color over the red hair. http://www.imdb.com/list/NQruQ4RJZoM/ dreamrider |

If you don't work at casting Hollywood movies you probably haven't heard of whoever will get selected in a year or two. The budget they want to do this at, and the fact that they want them to sign a multi-film contract, means that they are not going to be hiring people who can demand 15-20 million for a film. Heck, they probably would rather not go with ones who cost 5 million a film.

I feel like everyone is completely forgetting how amazing modern cosmetics and computer magic can be in making people fit in a roll while reading this thread. Just see The Lord of the Rings again if you need a reminder of how advanced modern character effects have become these days. Avatar as well was a gargantuan experiment in just how far movie tech has come as well.

Yes, these effects are amazing, but they're also pretty expensive to do well. If you have a choice between using a well-known actor/actress that has to have a post effect on her at all times to look the part, and casting an unknown that can pull off the role without such shenanigans, what do you think film producers will do? All in all, I'm with kzt on assuming that whoever gets chosen for the role will probably be someone the vast majority of us will have never heard from. |

Thank you for the list. Some nice fits in there, like Shalom Harlow here http://www.imdb.com/media/rm35297792/nm ... all_evt_17 She REALLY looks like Honor here, but she's too old for our "franchise ambitions"! I'd still daydream of Jaimie Alexander. I mean: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2948911616/ ... all_evt_21 And I mean: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4133266432/ ... _all_sf_32 Well, wow. Still, I feel the only viable way to do it is to cast a young, very young, relatively unknown able to "wear" the part. Doesn't even need to be an awesome actress, as long as "playing herself" fits well with what we know of Honor (TV casting works more like this, and it produced some AMAZING characters over the years). Physical adherence to text Honor is not necessary, but I agree height would add A LOT. |

Mind you it has been said that LOTR was set in New Zealand partially because of the spectacular scenery, but also because they could save makeup money when casting the Orcs. (Minor point - kiwis and aussies do enjoy winding each other up).

I thought thatnthe Orcs were just Aussies without makeup. |

Don't the folks at Evergreen wish they had the same budget for effects that Jackson had or the Cameron had for Avatar? An actor is far less expensive than a special effects actor/critter. |
