What is "ashen"?

Also, Honor has only spent about 5-6 years total (longest stretch: 4 years during FiE) on Grayson (gravity 1.17G), and she is generally in peak shape. Given that she is a Sphinxian native (gravity 1.35G) from a long line of Sphinx natives, and a Meyerdahl genie, with an Asiatic genotype on the other side; and further given that the textev talks about gently "cupping" and not clutching, grabbing, gathering in, or wallowing, I think that your conclusion is extremely problematic.

We must wait for further clarification from TMWW - and I think I know what he will say about his Athena.

PS - and oh by the way, toward the topic... Ms Lawrence is w-a-a-a-y too expensive and booked up for this project. Evergreen does not need to be spending 25% of its total budget just on the salary guarantee for a single star. ...And she is too short, even at 5'8". After doing some searches and surveys of tallest actresses a couple of years back, I have assumed 5' 9" as a casting minimum. There are still plenty of talented, qualified people between there and 6' (gets pretty rarified beyond that.) A bonus of focusing on taller starlets - reading thumbnail resumes, there seems to be a bit of a correlation between taller actresses and a tendency to portraying/displaying physicality in roles.

I don't think that Gwendoline Christie has been mentioned.
She is a 1.90 cm tall British actress and currently plays a female knight in Game of Thrones.

Lurked for a long time on here and finally decided to make an account on here with this thread.

Personally, a year ago, my money would have been on Angelina Jolie. Now I have seen the first page post from someone who is NOT Mr. Weber, rather emphatically stating that Mr. Weber doesn't care for this particular actress for the role of Honor. That is fine. I am curious to know the story why, but that can be saved for another time.

These days however, I agree with Mr. Weber's decision to not want Mrs. Jolie in the part. Many of her current decisions leave me less fond of her. That said I think she brings off the image I have in my head of Honor rather to a 'T'.

I can't recommend anyone else to play the part, however, whoever does should, in my sole humble opinion, resemble Mrs. Jolie. Height isn't that big of a factor with modern movie magic these days. Budget is going to be concern though, for a lack of budget means cheap effects which can kill a movie.

There are many reasons for not having Jolie in the role. As was mentioned above with regard to Jennifer Lawrence, you do not want to blow 25-40 percent of the cast, or perhaps film's budget on one actor. Jolie is no longer a young woman and certainly would not want to play roles that are physically very demanding any more. If, as rfc has stated, he pictures Honor as looking more like a young Sigourney Weaver (who is now an attractive 60+ year old actor), then Jolie is NOT Weber's vision Honor. And then there is the issue of personal antipathy--ten foot poles are not long enough for me...

Edit for clarification: I have nothing against Jolie. It is the Weber-Jolie stuff that I want to stay far far away from.

"Ashen" is my spell checker run amok. I meant Sphynx

honor cranks up the gravity when she exercises so no help there.

Hi RDT,

RFC at the Honor-con mentioned that he'd largely gotten over the antagonism to Angelina Jolie for screwing up his adoption of his two daughters about ten years ago, mentioning in passing all the people who 'helped' AJ get the little orphan boy she just 'had to have' in two weeks paying some $93K to do it IIRC, who went to jail for that and other thing$, which messed up all those that had been doing their adoptions lawfully with all due process got smeared in the process with month's of delays.

While AJ probably didn't know or have anything to do with all the illegal stuff, all those injured by her waltz in and out of Cambodia etc were understandably upset.

Apparently AJ wore an eye patch in "Sky Pirates" to test her suitability for looking like HH, but RFC was quite adamant at the time, ie well past a certain geographic location freezing over (not from global climate change).

The points about her age now and pay are very well taken, so its essentially all water under the bridge.

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

You don't REALLY believe this myth, do you? Angelina Jolie wore an eyepatch in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow in order to look in character and tough for THAT movie, in the same way that she has been blonde or short-haired in other films when the role called for it.

I would be surprised if Angelina Jolie has ever even heard of David Weber. I'd be flabbergasted if she had heard of him in 2002-3 when Sky Captain was filming.

That's "tubby" like a pro running back, right?
