I haven't been to Canada yet, but I lived for a year in a place called King of Prussia in Pennsylvania whilst working for GSK (as is), and I also did a but of travelling during that time, as far South as New Orleans, and as far West as Denver and environs.

HELP
RFC wrote "And would anyone care to guess [he asked innocently] why Honor Harrington's main squeeze is Hamish Alexander, Earl Whitehaven?" Tootall responded: "I am amazed and astounded that anyone could hide an "easter egg" 20 years ago and have the patience not to mention it until now. AND I have no idea why Honor's main squeeze is Hammish Alexander, Earl Whitehaven." And after reading this thread- Am I correct in saying we now know that there's a really OLD, really cool easter egg here- BUT, we don't know the answer to RFC's Question? Or do you guys have the answer and it evades me? |

Read it again. You cite RFC's statement. Now read the what RFC quoted from Bodrules. The easter egg is that Whitehaven is the only English port ever invaded by the United States Navy. That's apparently what inspired the name to RFC. Bodrules noted later that the town of Harrington is just north of Whitehaven. --------------------------------------------

Thanks for the reply. And what does the only invaded English port have to do with either Honor or Hamish? That's why I wondered if we'd really answered his question. "Would anyone care to guess why Honor Harrington's main squeeze is Hamish Alexander, Earl Whitehaven?" For me, I know there's an easter egg- I don't get the connection to the Honorverse- or John Paul Jones- or Honor or Hamish- |

I think you're expecting too much. RFC is a big fan of English naval history, Whitehaven is an important historical English port city, Harrington is near Whitehaven, so RFC gave the name Whitehaven to the guy he knew all along was going to marry Harrington. That's it. --------------------------------------------

The town of Harrington is to the north of Whitehaven.
Honor Harrington is taller than Hamish Alexander (Earl White Haven) Anyone else groaning at the terrible latitude joke? ~~~~~~

Once again, just bringing this thread forward for new members. I am still hoping for someone from Africa or Antarctica to admit to that fact.
