So we have hints Hector has a 'mortal wound' IE dies, but may not die of it. Nor will we find out until the book arrives. My guess is he makes it what's yours?

Sorry, HJ, that is not precisely what the word means. Recently we very thoroughly discussed this (in response to LAMA spoiler #6) and I included citations from first-class dictionaries that state otherwise.

Thank you for that link, ColonialBoy and yes, I too did a better lookup myself so I am in full agreement. It is interesting how discussions on this thread and from other RFC works tend to send many of us to research.

Kudos to RFC for that and maybe to Baen as well since he has fostered DW and other such authors as well. The Drake/Flint 'Belisarius' series had me really digging into that history and of course Flint's 1632 universe is much better with a working knowledge of the actual history. Looking back, for my favorite SF addiction, it now looks I owe as much to Jim Baen as I do to John Campbell (Astounding/Analog)!

Yup, me too.

I got so hooked on John Cambell's Analog of the '60's, that when I could in the 70's, I went back to the 50's to read all my favorite authors forward to avoid missing any.

Aren't good libraries great?

In the '80's Jim Baen grew on me as he published great authors.

Unfortunately the younger generation of librarians don't seem to know what they have or they're supposed to be protecting and sharing, rather some think books as so outdated and get rid of bookshelf loads for computer games and videos.
