And her real name! So fitting for somebody that fights in space.

Of course you can find loads of pics of her on google images.

.

And she was absolutely hilarious in "The Sessions" as John Hawkes' character's caretaker, Vera. I posted her name for the HH role after I saw her in that film.

Why is it that I would feel so much more confidence in the film's success if it were being made by, say, Yellow Bird, instead of FBN Productions?

Im sold on her name alone. All the other sci fi acting is a great bonus. :D

She's nice but not for a series of movies/tv shows. Young talent for the most part is what's needed.

I will bet she looks just about like she does now in ten years. She will very probably age very gracefully.

I hate to do this, but...

Perhaps it would make more folks less unhappy if the first movie (like there will be more?) is NOT based on OBS but on the short story Ms. Midshipwoman Harrington. No Stilties, no complicated story, fewer characters, what else?

I await the barrage.

Ms. Bloodgood certainly looks like a likely candidate. How is she with military jargon and technobabble? (Hopefully that last will be kept to a minimum).

Another actress who, alas, doesn't look like Honor Harrington's description, but portrayed (IMHO) the best military combat arms female on screen in sci-fi was Claudia Christian (as Commander Ivanova).

The Honorverse has quite a few great characters it would be a joy to see in a movie: Scotty Tremain and Horace Harkness would be at the top of my list!

Bosun McBride is also at the top of my list.

Edit: Correcting my Freudian slip.

"Bosom"?

Was that a Freudian slip?

I've never seen a description of her bosom(s), so it's still up in the air as to whether that would make a good nickname or not.

As for Claudia Christian, her name has cropped up before, and except for her age, I agree would make for a good Honor.

Far too old now, much as I hate to say it.

That's actually not a bad idea, and I certainly would have liked it. It'd be a great way to use a younger (late teens-early 20') actress as Honor, as Honor herself is just a mere snottie on her middie cruise, and not a 40+ veteran ace Commander in charge of a light cruiser. Prolong works well on the printed page, but in a visual medium it's gonna strain credibility to have a teenager play a mature adult.

Have a look at her in Terminator Salvation and Falling Skies for how she did in those.

I might should watch the Terminator movie again since it's been a while, but though she was involved in the action, i got the impression that she was kinda being tested as a player in a major motion picture ...where she may have gotten more screen time had she already had more previous work in similar rolls.

Her roll in Falling Skies (current)... though limiting her combative participation fighting the aliens since she plays a doctor, you can still get an idea how she does with a major (semi-major?) character in a show that is about fighting off alien invaders. The show has more of a totally changed world environment (not referring to "green") than a lot of "alien invaders!" shows. So the actors need to respond more as if they are in this science fictional world including some different jargon than non-sci-fi shows. Of course, the people making the show have a huge affect on how well this comes across too.

She's done a number of other shows, that i haven't seen.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1291227/

From the IMDb and google images, you can see that her "look" can vary a substantial bit... though i didn't notice any pics that seemed to really push that point.

While this is on my mind:
(Should this part be in a different forum?)

I'm worried about how Nimitz will end up looking. Including - if he will have "cat" eyes.

Please don't use horizontal pupils.. use "normal" vertical or common, round.

Treecats evolved for environment/survival-methods similar to Earth cats and implies they would require similar arrangement of eyes and their pupils for gathering light and detect motion in much the same way.

Defying real (known and familiar) physics crashes my suspension of disbelief.
