The belief that maybe Wencit has been creating a 5th column of disillusioned wizards or maybe dark wizards creating their own 5th column on the old continent. Second, Wencit protecting certain blood lines that contained high wizard talents or high wild wizard talents. Where has all the Wild Wizards have gone to in the last 1000 years?

Wild Wizards are uncommon. They need a triggering event, and they need to survive it.
We have 3 confirmed wild wizards in the story from the entire history of the Empire of Kontovar. Wencit, Emperor Ottovar, and Prince Herrick. Wencit is about a thousand years old. Herrick seems dead, but his lineage is implied to live. And old Otto lived 10,000 years ago. Wild wizards just seem to be insanely rare. It looks like Gwynna might be the first Wild Mage. Which makes sense as in Norfressa, those with Wizard potential are slowly switching to becoming Mages instead. (Gwynna might of been a potential wild wizard, since her mother's family claims descent from the old Kontovarian nobility, but it awakened as mage talent). Also Wencit's protections strongly imply some sort of time travel issues, likely from parallel worlds. |

There are 4 confirmed wild wizards in what history of Kontovar that we know. You missed Empress Gwynytha, Ottovar's wife. ----------------------------

Cat's Eyes, who it seems is the current Lord of the Council of Carnadosa, reflects at one point that the Kontovarans know almost nothing about wild wizardry. There have been _no_ wild wizards there since the Fall, so their only object of study is Wencit. [Given that he's also a more-skilled and much wilier wand-wizard than they are, that study has doubtless been rather misleading.]
