Their remotes must be catching alot of the bad guys in the republic comit terrible crimes. Those responsible in the armies will eventually be dealt with, but what about those that hid themselves away in the republic. some might be hunted, so just leak their positions to the right person, but those that no one knows thier crimes. I am hoping for vigilanttee justice, they get knocked out and delivered to the authories, with a signed confession and a detailed list of crimes.
Merlin could keep a big list of those that commit crimes, waiting for the day they can be dealt with. those that would commit such crimes, are those likely to commit more, in the name of the church, so simply wait til they do and use it against them. |

David Weber doesn't think much of the "war crimes" idea.
See: http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/en ... gton/268/1 What may happen is that the "Temple Loyalists" in Siddarmark will face standard Siddarmark criminal law prosecutions for crimes such as "treason", murder, rape, etc. I suspect that the foreign troops will face the standard Siddarmarkian practice for their actions especially if they go beyond standard Safeholdian "rules of war".

One problem would be admissibility in court, technology banned by the proscriptions would not lead to a viable public prosecution as long as the proscriptions are in place (but may verify claims to a judge of the inner circle). |
