Within the realm of the ridiculous : Keyser Soze appears in the temple (with the advent of the invading allied forces) and shoots Clyntahn twice in the head, lights a cigarette and burn the temple down. Thus ridding the world of Clyntahn (who apparently could finger him) and destroying the angels in the basement.

Of course Oscar Gordon could show up and kill him, because he stole the egg.

As Hillel would say Don't do to others than causes pain to yourself.

It is far more important to be rid of Clyntahn as soon as practical than it is to invent a suitably creative "appropriate" punishment for his many horrendous crimes. Just kill him. No show trial, no entertainingly painful and/or humiliating punishments, just death.

This is Safehold we're talking about. A simple death without a confession extracted by torture condemns him to eternal damnation in Shan Wei's hell. By executing him quickly, you are actually punishing him *MORE*. Granted, the Temple Loyalists also believe that Clyntahn was right and will go to heaven I suppose, but they're idiots. You're not executing Clyntahn for them. You're executing him for the Reformists and Schismatics, who believe he's going to hell, and the sooner the better. The last thing any of them want is an off chance that he might show up in heaven to screw up their afterlife.
