Actually probably just the same. I.e. they would wait until the time shows, who was right: Langhorne or Dr. Pei. After all, the Safehold was ALREADY damaged pretty hard in both material (they bombed out the area, comparable to Indian subcontinent. At least some climatic and ecological changes are sure to follow) and sociological planes. Any attempt to "just reveal the truth" would probably lead just to total chaos, society collapse and small bunch of former Demons&Archangels trying to salvage at least something from this mess.

It make more sence to wait and see, and then react according to the observations.
