Today Amazon.co.uk have reported that:-
"We regret to inform you that the following items have been delayed:

Weber, David "Hell's Foundations Quiver (Safehold)"
Estimated arrival date: October 28 2015 - November 02 2015

I'm travelling next week, if I find a copy then Amazon will be cancelled. This is far too near official delivery dates for a delay to be notified.

Even if the delayed delivery is as stated I will not be home to read the book until 5th December.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

That sucks. Is that just for the hardback? Or did the Amazon.uk e-book get delayed as well?

Unlike the USA, Amazon UK are not offering HFQ at any significant discount for "dead-tree" purchasers

£10.44 ($16.03) for the e-book and £14.91 $23.31) for hard copy at today's exchange rates. E-books are also subject to 20% Vastly Abominable Tax unlike paper copies.

You can then understand why there are regular complaints about "Rip-off Britain). It used to be cheaper for me to get a friend in Dallas to pop down to Barnes & Noble and post me four books at a time than to pay for them in England.

My daily pilgrimage to Minotaur has borne no fruit. This afternoon, shortly before closing time, I was told that six crates of books had arrived from somewhere but no one was going to work late to unpack them and see what they contained.

Oh, well! LAMA was two days late down here, back in February 2014.

I'm not browsing too deep here right now, for fear of further spoilers, so I'll catch you all in due course!

Another day, another disappointment.

My friend in Queensland has got his from a store in Brisbane, so it is not being in Australia that is the issue.

My bookseller, of which I have been a customer through two manifestations, going right back to 1978, will soon learn that I am VERY DISPLEASED!
