I amuse myself thinking his Pasqualate doctor has been telling him for 30 years that overeating isn't genuinely dangerous for those in the Archangels' graces, and STD's are a myth too. Just because the doctor knows him very well, feels the same way we do about him, and is very, very patient....

Hi JeffEngel, and McGuiness;

Kudos for making me smile. :D

Imagine if Clyntahn just suddenly quietly died, surprising everyone.

That would definitely be a twist, right?

Personally I prefer a paralyzing stroke that allows him to see all his dreams come a part without being able to stop or change anything, that leads him to attempt suicide to stop witnessing the triumph of the allies and his enemies, and botching that too.

A long lingering incapacitated misery, to where he confesses everything in order to hang and end it all...

Any other suggestions?

Back on the topic, the 25% downward shift of the temple mark against Charis's in only 4 years is noteworthy, especially Rhobair's prediction if not prophecy that it was about to get worse.

If Rhobair is in contact with Nynian as some suppose, could she be the one to carefully spread the rumors the CoGA can't pay for what it's already put on the market?

If most of the new money Rhobair was intending to spend on the jihad has to go to pay for prior commitments, thanks to some leak in say North Harchong [via Nynian], Clyntahn may spend much energy and effort trying to find the terrible traitors, with the same lack of success the inquisition have had with 'the Hand of Kau-yung', who've again foiled his brilliant plans.

Perhaps it might come from a very dedicated inquisitor who discovers the money doesn't add up and warns a few trusted friends and family members...

The various ways RFC can play with these potential financial pitfalls are so intriguing, its painful to wait till September 8.

149 days and counting down...

L

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Personally I vote for a massive stroke, that leaves him an almost total invalid eg going through his second childhood.
